First, which planes have movies available? Is it certain larger models only?

And as I was watching Monsters Inc last night, I was wondering -- How was United able to show MI on our return flight home last May?
It must be that certain companies can buy movies before they are released to the public.
Just wondering how that works.

I think it depends on the airline on which flights they show movies. The only time I've seen them is Pittsburgh-Las Vegas on USAir, which is about a 4 to 5 hour flight. The planes were either a 737 or an Airbus. They don't show them to Orlando, which is only 2 hours 15 min. Most of the planes I've been on lately have a video screen, they use it for the safety video.
