My 7 year old has a passport card. Do I also need to bring along his birth certificate? 4 night Bahama cruise.

Not sure a passport card is even usable unless driving across the canadian or mexico borders from what I researched. A passport book is way to go. Honestly a birth certificate is all you need for a bahama cruise

Oops guess it can be used in the Caribbean too. Just wanted to add I looked it up and am incorrect in this statement above

The passport card will work in place of a birth certificate for a Bahamas cruise. It just won't do anything more than a birth certificate would do since you wouldn't be able to fly back from a foreign port if you would have to leave the cruise early.

It's fine... As long as there is no need for you to fly back to the US from the Bahamas. It is only good for land or sea entrance - not air. In the future an actual passport would be much more useful.

We have cruised with Passport Cards. It should be fine for a Bahama itinerary without a birth certificate. Just be aware that it will not help if something arises causing you to need to fly to meet the ship or debark early and fly home.

Enjoy your cruise!

The card is fine without a birth certificate! That's what my father uses when we cruise!
