Hi all,
First, I'm walker, not a runner -- although for walking a do a fairly brisk pace of 11-13 mins. per mile depending on weather, distance and mood.
Recently I've been using the Galloway 5K app to working on increasing my pace. As part of this program, I've been doing some longer (up to 6-7 miles) walks.
A couple of times, I've gotten what feels like a bruise on the "edge" of the outer sole of my foot directly across from the heel end of my arch. (Sorry if that description doesn't make sense!).
It feels enough like a bruise that the first time I thought I'd stepped on one of my dog's toys and just hadn't registered it at the moment. But now I seeing a correlation between increased training and what we'll call, very scientifically, my recurring foot boo-boo.
I'm wondering if this is a common nuisance injury and if it means anything that I should heed and correct.
Thanks for any opines! E.
