Hello all!

This past week has been crummy. Just didn't feel well after my port was put in on Tuesday until really Saturday. Haven't been on the boards at all and I missed everyone!

Closing in on our trip to Sloan-Kettering. Will be flying out next Tuesday and staying, as of right now, an undetermined amount of days, depending on flights.

Questions for NYCers....what is the weather like there now.... especially the lows and the general mid day temps.

Also, can anyone recommend a Car Service to pick us up from LaGuardia? There are so many and I'd like to get a good one. We're thinking it'll be about $60 from the Airport to the hotel, which is on the Upper East Side.

I want to see the NY skyline at night. Is Staten Island Ferry a good way to do this? (It's free, so it's the right price).

Any and all other advice is welcomed and appreciated!

Many thanks!
Beth
PS....DS17 had PROM this weekend and he and his girlfriend were precious!!! I wish I knew how to put up a picture!! It was a perfect night for them!

Beth, no tips on NYC... :teeth: Just wanted to wish you the best. :goodvibes :goodvibes

Not sure about the skyline(but I do think the ferry would be a good idea-we have taken the dinner cruises around Manhattan--you can also try the Circle Line maybe) or the car service..but the weather here is lovely..and will be so throughout the week, high 50s to around 60. Chilly at night, still need a winter coat.

Wishing you all the best!

I'm from South Jersey so I can't help, but wishing you good luck when you go, and lots of prayers.

Two car companies that I would recommend are http://www.telavivlimo.com/index.HTML?link=PA and http://www.carmellimo.com/

Look into both, they are both listed on Lagurdias website. I have used them both myself. The weather just took a turn for the better today. We had sunshine and I think it hit high 50's. By the end of this week it is supposed to hit low 60's. I hope it stays this way for your arrival! It has been getting cool in the evening still, high 30's to low 40's.

I think that walking across the Brooklyn Bridge is a awesome experience with incredible views. It isnt that long a walk at all, less than a mile. Not only would you see the skyline but also Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan Bridge. Here is a link to read on it, http://brooklyn.about.com/cs/seventhave/a/brooklynbridge_2.htm

If you would like restaurants that are good in that area( its a good one) let me know what you like. Malaga is one of my favorites in that area, we have been eating there for over 30 years.

I wish you all the best. Please let me know if you have any other questions. :goodvibes

Oh walking across the Brooklyn Bridge! That sounds great! I'd love to, just to say I'd done it! I'll keep checking the weather. Thank you for the info.

As for restaurants, we just like plain ol' American stuff.... maybe Italian. We're not big foodies.

Hi Beth,

I will send you a PM with my number and some info. If I can be of any service while you're here (I live in the West Village), please don't hesitate!

I've used Carmel Limo going from Upper East Side to La Guardia several times. I've never used them going the other way but I would think the price would be about the same. I think I paid around $30 using a coupon. If you go to their Website, you can print off the $4 off coupon.

Hope all goes well for you in NY. :goodvibes

Morning bump! I think we're going with Carmel Limo. Thanks! :thumbsup2

Weather has been in the mid 40's for a low and mid 50's for a high most days. Make sure you bring an umbrella because we're getting into the spring showers. Carmello car service is great, ask the driver to go over the bridge, it's a nice view. The statan Island Ferry is nice... and like you said free!
Make sure you stop at a NYC pizzaria to get a REAL slice while you're here! Try to eat at local restaurants, avoid the chains. NYC has some great places to eat!

Good Morning Beth,
I can't help with the info on New York but I just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and wish you a good trip. :grouphug:
