I have a dinner reservation at Chef Mickey's for our first night. However, I am pretty scared to eat there. The reviews are just HORRID. I am thinking of alternatives, but I really can't think of an alternative with BOTH Mickey and Minnie. Is there another choice?

As far as I know, CM's is the only place where they both appear. You can see Mickey at Garden Grill dinner, Ohana breakfast and Tusker House breakfast and Minnie at Cape May breakfast.

Hi Lauren!

We've been to Chef Mickey's a few times (for the same reason - to see both Minnie and Mickey together) but we really don't care for it. We have three boys, so Minnie may not be a priority for them, but I've been a Minnie fan since age two, so here's what we do: Garden Grill for dinner and Ohana for breakfast to see Mickey, and Cape May for breakfast to see Minnie. It's not all in one place, but we prefer the food and atmosphere at these TS locations so much more that it's worth it to us to schedule more than one character meal to see them both.

I can't think of another one that has minne, but there are other choices that have mickey. I will say I went there in December and had a good meal. In 2006 I went and wasn't impressed, didn't really want to go back. My mom was with us this past trip and wanted to go, so we went back. It was good, not bad at all! It was busy that night but we didn't have to wait long for a table. The food was pretty good and our waiter was great!

We had breakfast there and loved it...especially my son. You will probably see good and bad reviews on most Disney restaurants. We're actually going back there in May...perhaps it's changed:confused3 Guess we will find out;)

Thanks all. I think I'll keep it. I would switch to Cape May (Minnie is more important to our crew than Mickey, but ideally they'd like to see both), but we are staying at POFQ with no rental car. I think breakfast there would be a hassle.

I don't understand the bad reviews on CM. My family loves it. It's a classic! I haven't eaten lunch or dinner there, but breakfast is good. It's just your typical buffet, so it's hard to mess up. My family went in March 2009 and we had a group of 18. The characters all came by and took pictures and everything was perfect!

Oh trust me, they can mess it up BIG time. They did for us last February. The food and service were beyond horrible, the place was a mess, the character interaction was bad because they buzzed by so quick and Mickey skipped our table...we had to almost beg to get to see him.

I get that CM's is a classic but it needs overhauled.

But, if you're at Animal Kingdom, you can see both Mickey & Minnie at Camp Mickey & Minnie (I think that's what it is called) and the lines are pretty manageable. You can also see Donald & Goofy.

We've been there twice (end of April) and the lines have been short.

We've also had dinner at Chef Mickey's and it wasn't bad at all.

Good luck!

Yeah, my DD specifically asked to eat with Minnie...Though I am majorly tempted to book a different character meal and tell her that there aren't options to eat with Minnie. :rolleyes1

I'd book breakfast at Cape May. It is a much more clam and relaxing breakfast, the food is fabulous, the service is great and the character interaction was top notch!

We eat at Chef Mickey's on every trip for dinner. It's a great place to meet all the popular characters, without having to stand in line forever. The food is fine. It's nothing special, but we've always found enough to eat there. I think it's better than most Disney buffets.

We ate at CM for dinner & it was a typical buffet. It will always be special to me because it was the first meal on our first family trip to WDW. The only character meal we didn't do on that trip was Cape May because it just wasn't a convenient place for our itenerary. When/if we stay at BC, we'll do the Cape May character breakfast.

I am one of the people who posted the awful dinner review - it was without a doubt the worst meal I have ever had on Disney property.

Breakfast, on the other hand, was better - the food was not Chef Boyardee quality and there was a bit of everything that made my group happy.

My suggestion to you is to try to switch your meal at CM to breakfast if you want to see both Mickey and Minnie together...

We LOVE Chef Mickeys so much that we eat breakfast AND dinner there every trip!! Granted its not gourmet food, typical buffet fare. We ENJOY the food and have great character interaction!
