Minnie Van and car seats

I’ve never used the Minnie Van service. I looked on disneys website but it was unclear. Can you request a car seat with the car? I’ve never brought my baby in a car that wasn’t ours so not sure how that works. It would be easiest if we could use this instead of a bus to get back to our hotel after dinner

Yes, up to two car seats. I swear I remember they did 3 car seats at one time, but I must be mistaken.

How does the car seat work since an infant would use something different than a one year old. Is it just something that fits all?

And just to add in case helpful, you don’t “request” a car seat - all Minnie Vans will have the two with them so you just order a Minnie Van through the Lyft app, nothing special. They will likely arrive uninstalled/stored in the back (unless you happen to be right after a drop off where they are installed) - the driver will size up your car seat needs and install it as needed, usually takes a minute or so.

Mine are out of car seat age now but when they were younger I very much appreciated Minnie Vans for the “known” aspect of the car seats - the drivers have always seemed reasonably well trained in installation and they use a quality (Grayco I think?) car seat.

Hope that helps.

Also just an FYI - We arrived on Tuesday and I called disney before we left NJ for the airport.

I tried to reserve a ride from mco to grand floridian. That service isn't available until later in December.

Thank you for clarifying that helps! And we use Graco in our car so that’ll be nice.

Thanks! We are driving so that won’t be an issue. Just need it when we go to magic kingdom. We are doing dinner at Grand Floridan close to bed time so I don’t want the hassle of taking the bus back to our hotel so figured this would make the travel easier

All Minnie Vans use 2 Graco branded car seats (always been 2, never been 3), 5 point harness style, in the back, at all times.
It's the only way to have 2 car seats using Ride Share period and the only way to have car seats with Lyft period.
All Minnie Van drivers are trained to install the car seats properly.
All of the car seats were purchased at once and are the same age/brand/style, unless they've had to be replaced since their original purchase for some reason. It's possible those are different but not certain about that

I'd love to do this but I don't think they'd fit all our luggage.

Just to add on, those seats can also be used as a high-back booster. My son was 6.5 on our last trip and we used a Minnie Van once. The driver installed the seat as a booster for him. That’s not the type of seat we’ve ever used at home but it seems like they convert really easily!

Looks like you already got your answer. However I wanted to add we have used Minnie vans many times with 2 kids of car seat age and it’s fabulous. They install based on the age of the child and what they needed. Rear facing, forward, booster.

Just know they are hard to get at times so be warned it may be a bit of a wait.

Yes it's the best thing about that car seat. The are a one and done seat, can go from birth to you no longer need one. And they aren't expensive. It's the one we bought for all the cars for DGD. Every parent and grandparent had one. Just easier than moving theirs out of their car.

Good to know. We are planning to use to magic kingdom tomorrow morning. How early should we request? Not trying to go for park opening but still morning

If not going for rope drop it may be a bit better, but I would check timing about 30 minutes before you want to leave should give you an idea!

Have the best day
