Minnie Got a Makeover. Thoughts?

Why do I suddenly have the theme from "The Golden Girls" running through my head?

HAHAHAHHAHAAAAA!!!!! :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I am one of the Disney freaks who doesnt take well to change in the parks or anything Disney related that matter. I like everything to stay classic. I'm still trying to wrap my head around the Princesses makeover and that wasnt even too drastic!

My 10 year old walked in looked at the picture and said, "What the heck?" If a 10 yr old BOY can see problems with it then it must be U.G.L.Y!

Sorry WDsearcher- love ya, but it's still totally something my Grandma would have worn in her 90s- minus the goofy hat/tiara and the rap star "love" necklace and what appears to be an apple applique or necklace:

The "Cinderella" inspired design cracks me up. I do like the Cinderella and Alice gowns, and the Malecifent look, and the Peter Pan hat is fun (although it definitely would get some strange looks around the neighborhood).
No worries ... I didn't say you'd change your mind, only that you might get a better look. ;) Thankfully, Disney didn't design the look, the specific designer did, so it's not like Minnie's wardrobe is headed in that direction.

I think the Peter Pan hat would be fabulous at Ascot in the UK. It would certainly rival any of the hats or fascinators usually worn!

My first thought is the dress looks like the tardis and hat like the doctor's fez. Doctor Who reference. :)

As long as that look stays in Paris, I can live with it.

I thought Mickey and Minnie were timeless. In her Paris makeover, she looks like an old woman.

I'm halfway with you there. I do like the in park Cinderella makeover, but I hate the in park Belle makeover. Her hair is all wrong, but the worst thing is that the dress is the wrong color. It is way too pale for good photos and it makes Belle look really washed out in ETWB pics now. It really doesn't photograph well, and it just doesn't look like Belle. DD feels the same way. DD didn't even notice the difference in Cinderella on our last trip. Belle hadn't changed yet. She later saw a picture of the new "Belle" not knowing it was from WDW, and said it looked like someone trying to dress up as Belle that didn't know what Belle looked like.

I didn't like the merchandise makeover...until I discovered how much money it was going to save me! DD has always been an enormous Cinderella fan and has always begged for new Cinderella merchandise when it comes out. She hates the Cinderella merchandise makeover and complains she doesn't even look like Cinderella anymore. (I have to agree that Cinderella and Belle wouldn't be caught dead in that much make-up and Belle looks like she has gone under the knife for plastic surgery one too many times.) As a result DD doesn't want any Cinderella things that have the "new" face on it. She loves the other Princesses too, but she doesn't want anything that has the new Belle face on it either. This makeover is saving me (and her Grandma, who always gives in to her) a ton of money!!! The only place it hurts is that if she finds something with the "real" Cinderella, then she begs for it because she knows those are now leftovers that are few and far between, and I usually cave in because I have to admit I get kind of excited when we find something in the store that still has the "real" Cinderella too. ;)

LOL!! You NAILED it when you said Belle looks like she had plastic surgery. Because I couldnt put my finger on what was so strange about them but THATS IT!!! They all (in my opinion) look like theyve had too much plastic surgery!! Good call!

Terrible look! She looks like a tacky, 60 yr old woman. ( and I mean no offense to older woman- many look fab.) Minnie looks like she is wearing an old lady mumu dress with extra tacky embellishments. I hope we never have to see that.

Fine, mess with the princesses, but leave Minnie alone! Why change something that works!

No one is "changing" anything.

This was one French designer doing some Disney-inspired designs as a way to promote the Disney brand in Europe. It's really no different than Bob Mackie designing clothes for Barbie, or Miss Piggy wearing a Zac Posen gown and Christian Louboutin shoes for the Oscars. It's fashion designers having fun with the characters. Not a shift of direction for character costuming worldwide.

And now, everyone ... breathe!

:) Maybe they are planning on doing "Real Housewives of Fantasyland" ;)

Actually that's what she'll be wearing while she's staring in a remake of The Golden Girls.
