I can't decide!!

My boyfriend is gluten intolerant so he can't have any wheat product, this is our only issue but both look so good!!!

i think you will probably have more choices at Goofy's Kitchen, but you are right--they both look so yummy! I'm planning with food allergies and have been told to talk to the chef for ingredients and substitutions they can make. Maybe a call to disney dining can help you decide.

Or just plan on both of them:rolleyes1

Hi, there. I thought I'd pop in here and add something. Disney deals with food allergies all the time at WDW. Probably because there are more opportunities to have sit down meals, etc. The best way to handle it is to mention the allergy when making the reservation. it gets noted. Then call the restaurant before arriving and discuss options. when you arrive at the restaurant, remind the server that you are the party with the allergies and request to speak with the chef. Disney is very accommodating regarding allergies. At WDW, allergies are so common, that you can order egg-free Mickey pancakes at the Kona Cafe at the Polynesian without pre-arranging anything! Gluten-free products are also available, and I know of several people who cannot tolerate gluten and have had great times at WDW. But, the key is, plan ahead. Let Disney know in advance; you may be pleasantly surprised. :goodvibes

Thank you so much, I will have to give them a call soon. You guys are great:)

Well, I firmly believe it all boils down to what you want out of a character breakfast. Both restaurants should be able to accommodate your boyfriend's allergy so I would not worry so much about that, but Goofy's and Minnie's are very different.

Goofy's has a wide selection of items to choose from. Both traditional breakfast and some very unconventional items. The food is good, but the price is steep. I usually pay about 30+ for a "brunch" at Goofy's. I do enjoy being able to get an early PS before the park opens and have breakfast and be at the park for rope drop though. It is a wonderful way to start the day. The one downside for Goofy's is the fact that there seems to be a lack of characters. I always see Goofy, Pluto, CHip and Dale and Baloo. On my last trip I also saw Jasmine and Alice. This was the most characters I have ever experianced at Goofy's though. Many other DISers share the same feelings regarding this manner. Simply put... for the amount of money that you pay, GOOFY'S NEEDS MORE CHARACTERS!

Minnie and Friend's on the other hand has an abundance of characters. On my trip there on my last trip we saw Rabbit, Pooh, Tigger, Max, Captain Hook, Chip and Dale, Fairy Godmother, Minnie and others that I can't remember. The food was good, but it is only standard breakfast fare. Breakfast meats, waffles, eggs, potatoes, biscuits and gravy, cereal, pastries and muffins. Goofy's has all of the exact same items and more! Due to the lack of variety the bill is smaller at a more reasonable 23ish dollars. So Minnie and Friends gets points for the price. Lastly, you can not beat the location for minnies. You are sitting on main street eating a good meal surrounded by Disney Characters. Makes for some good memories and photo opps.

Like I said, it all really depends on what you want out of a character breakfast. Good luck :thumbsup2

I'd go with Goofy's Kitchen if you want a better overall experience. Minnie's Breakfast is convenient if you want to quickly eat and head straight to DL...but it's so crowded and IMHO the food is somewhat average....that I'd consider the experience similiar to going to a school cafeteria. If you have the time, go to Goofy's Kitchen.

You know, I still have yet to do the breakfast at Minnie & Friends, and I wish I had thought to do it this past Saturday. As all the DIS-ers know, I am a diehard Goofy's Kitchen fan since 1992. It has been a staple of every DLR trip. In all those years I have only had maybe one or two iffy experiences there. Yes, the price is quite steep, but I think for the 7 or so characters we see and the wide array of food, it is worth it to us (and a discount with an AP or AAA does not hurt!).

However, this past weekend, for some reason I decided to suggest the Critter Breakfast at Storytellers to save my friends some money, even though I wanted to go to Goofy's. And we paid about $23 for the minimal Storytellers buffet (very limited selection). This was my third attempt at the Critter meal, and I have never felt 100% satisfied with it on any of these occasions. I always prefer Goofy's for the impressive food variety, the quality of the food and the characters . So I am thinking that we should have spent the same $23 we spent at Storytellers and gone to Minnie & Friends instead. At least that way, we would have had an abundance of characters to take photos with and the food probably would have been on par with or better than the lackluster food we had at Storytellers on Saturday morning. Bad choice on my part - it was such an impromptu trip that I didn't have time to think and plan clearly. Now I know better!
