what is the difference? on the dollar site, they are listed with the same options, as well as for the same price...are they really the same thing?

also, dollar has a promo right now to rent a van for $209 for the week- with taxes and the such totaling around $260. thoughts on that being a good deal for may 3rd through the 9th, or do you think that i can do better???

as always, thanks a bunch!!!

I'm going May 8-16, just got a minivan with an Amex code AX07 for $177 a week :cheer2: from Dollar. We used Dollar last year with the KISS2 code... this Amex rate is even better!

Difference between the car classes is a Highlander vs true minivan... I'm not sure about the true space, you could visit a car site to see the Highlander. (sorry, I don't know who makes it..:upsidedow )

check to see if they charge for a 2nd driver? unlimited mileage? other extras?

$260/week for a van sounds like a good price! I have a mid-size SUV from National for $279 - pick up 5/1 at the CCC; return 5/6 at the apt. (Enterprise wanted $301.)

I wasn't able to use the AX07 code for a discount on Dollar.

A Highlander is a Toyota model.

just be aware, I read the Dollar info - they charge $9.99 per day extra for a 2nd driver - including your spouse or "life partner" so if you're thinking you need 2 drivers registered to drive the car, you'll be paying more... or might want to try a rental company like Hertz or Enterprise where spouses are included.

and, don't forget to factor in $$$ for tolls.

The e-mail I received quoted the AX07 for $179/wk for Minivan's ONLY... it looks like you are getting an SUV.....?? I just got the e-mail on 3/5. I would think the offer would still be good...:confused3

When we rented a minivan we got a Dodge Grand Caravan, which had tons of room for all our stuff, including 2 grandchildren, luggage, and a small fridge.

When we rented a mid-size SUV we got a Toyota Highlander, which doesn't hold quite as much stuff but is a really nice vehicle.
