MiniVan car rentals - specific vehicle requests?

We would like to rent a minivan to drive to Orlando in August. We would LOVE to be able to rent & drive a Honda Odyssey - it would be the "perfect test drive" to see if we may want to buy one - one day!!

Does anyone know if there is a car rental place that would rent a Honda Odyssey? Are there any car dealerships that would be willing to let you "test drive" a vehicle for 10 days?

I can't speak for mini vans, but in all my years of weekly car rentals for business I have NEVER gotten a Honda. My understanding is that there sales are so strong they just don't sell to the rental fleets. (The rental companies want a good discount)

I can't remember which rental co, it was one of the major ones ie Hertz, Alamo etc..., but I know I saw the Toyota Sienna available in Orlando, don't know about elsewhere and I think I saw the Odyssey, I commented to DH that we could try out the new 06 as we have the 02.

I have never heard of a dealership that would let you rack up those kind of miles for a test drive, but hey, it never hurts to ask!

I did see the Toyota van on Alamo's site, but it was listed as an 8 passenger and was more than the other vans. As far as I know, Honda doesn't do any fleet sales to rental car companies, so you chances of finding one is very slim.
