So tell me ladies....am I nuts??? I'll be at WDW 5/7 - 5/15 & only have 3 PS's. 5/7 w/ Chef Mickey 5/8 w/ Cindy & 5/10 Fantasmic H&V. My DH & DD's (8 & 10) have never been to WDW so I have NO idea where we'll be or when. Thought I'd wing it. Any advice on "must eat" dining? What's the scoop with Epcot? Can you get good food with PS? I'd prefer NOT to eat cafeteria style ALL week...

thanks,
Jeri

(PS...we have park hopper tickets)

:wave2:

I'd definitely add some more PS's. Of course I'm a PS queen! I'd add Liberty Tree Tavern, Sci-Fi (for lunch), Le Cellier, and 1900 Park Fare. Also would your daughters be interested in any of the Grand FLoridian Kids activities - Pirate Cruise, Wonderland Tea party or Grand Adventures in Cooking - they all require PSs.

We only have 3 also. DH wants to save money and not eat TS a lot... even though I wonder how long that will last. I'm wondering what restaurants will you be able to walkup/wait a little to eat at? I'm sure not all of them are popular restaurants and I'm sure others will walk up as well. What if out of the blue we want to eat at a restaurant because we feel like eating that kind of food one night?

Go on allearsnet and study the menus. That will give you an idea of what the counterservice options are. There are lots of burgers, hot dogs and pizza, but quite a few of the CS places have other choices, too.

I think that I would be nervous unless I made more.

For example, last year in June, we were at MGM and went to the Sci-Fi to try to walk in (about 11:30). The next available time w/o a PS was at 2:30.

I think that if you eat at unusual times, you will be okay, though.

Have a good trip!

We never make a lot of PS before we go, we like to let the kids decide which parks when. So we usually call the night before or the morning of and make our PS. You won't always get the resturant you want, but you will always be able to get a PS. We have always been able to get our 1st or 2nd choice.

A lot depends on crowd levels and your personality. The first two times I took DD, we made no PS's at all. We only ate a few table meals - Sci Fi and Prime Time, for example - but never had to wait more than 20 minutes. If I had to wait longer than that, I'd just go somewhere else for that meal and maybe try again later.

This trip, we did the dining plan and so made a total of 8 PS's. It was a trade-off for me. I liked a lot of the food quite a lot, but we spent more time making sure we were in the right place for the PS and not in line for a ride than I would have liked. We just lost the spontaneous ability to do whatever we wanted within any given moment. Some days, this was a semi-deal, some days it really didnt' matter.
