Forgive me if this has already been covered, but… what is the minimum number of dvc points one can own via resale and still get dvc membership benefits?

Word of warning, all benefits can and do change, sometime without warning.

DVD is in the business to sell timeshares, not provide benefits. Almost all extras are paid for with our DVC dues.

Unless something has recently changed, the minimum add-on contract is 25 points, so that would be the smallest possible to find on the resale market as well.

There is at least one person here who reported having a 10-pt contract. They were adding on directly through Disney and Disney ended up providing them the points split between two contracts, one for 10 points and the other for N-10 points.

I suspect that if they ever decide to sell that 10 pointer, Disney will take it back through ROFR.

OP: While small contracts do pop up on resale sites, they usually sell very quickly, and a premium price per point. If you decide to buy, contact some resale brokers to get your name on their contact list for a small contract. I suspect some of these small contracts sell before they even get posted on the brokers' websites.

Purchasing 25 points via resale will NOT give that member access to member cruises.

Resale purchase of any size will provide the member access (currently) to member discounts, access to reservations at all DVC resorts (based on availability), and access to the World Passport Collection. Resale purchase at this time will not provide access to the Disney Collection (non-DVC Disney resorts and DCL), Adventure Collection or Concierge Collection.

Correct, I should have been more clear though that is a potential reason for a 25 point retail purchase.
