Okay experts! Dh and I bought at SSR last Sept, 200 points, and then got home and got cold feet....so we cancelled the contract. :sad2: I was just scared of the monthly payment!!! We do want to buy into DVC but I realized really we don't need 200 points. We could probably get by with 125 points to start considering what our wants and needs will be. Someone told me you cannot buy into DVC with less than 150 points. I don't recall this being part of the presentation when we toured DVC. Also, I am considering a resale for these points...so if what this someone told me is true, would I not be allowed to purchase just 125 points if someone had them for sale?
TIA for your responses!

The minimum number of points that you can purchase directly from Disney is 150.

The minimum does not apply if you purchase via resale. Since 25 points is the smallest add on contract that Disney has sold, 25 is effectively the minimum you can buy via resale. So, if you can find a 125 point contract for sale, Disney willnot stop you from buying it (assuming the price isn't so low that Disney decides to buy it under ROFR).

Best wishes -

You might check out The Timeshare Store (one of the sponsors of the DISboards).

There's not much right now, but I did see a 115 point SSR and a 125 point VB for sale.

Keep in mind when you look at resales, that points already banked or borrowed do affect the true 'value' of the contract. Don't just look at the Price/Point.
