Minimum Capacity

I am also worrying about my trip being cancelled. We are doing an Italy trip, which I know has been traditionally very popular, but there are *so many* trips offered throughout the summer, and the big thing this year is the Greece trip. I'm worried that my trip will be cancelled and we'll have to change dates. I don't want to go through changing flights; I'm considering paying extra (as opposed to using miles) for our flights, so that Disney handles any rebooking costs. (and hassles). Anyone have any thoughts on this?

My trip currently just has my family booked. There are two other folks listed, but the vacationist said that they are probably the guides.

If ABD cancels your trip, they *will* handle any rebooking costs. That's their policy. If you use miles, and there's a charge to re-book, ABD will cover that. I'm not sure what the procedure would be if you can't rebook with miles. I'm sure they'd pay the fee to have your points re-banked, and probably pay at least some of the cost of then buying tickets using cash. I'd call ABD and find out for sure. I guess if you do pay cash for your tickets, it would certainly be more straight-forward.

The *least* hassle would be if you booked through ABD (although it's no more expensive to book through ABD for cash than it is if you book for cash yourself. You can tell them exactly the flight you want, at what price, and if they can bring it up, they'll book it for you.)

I was so impressed by ABDs air program! We almost ALWAYS book our own air because 1) We want to use my husbands status for boarding, bag fees ( or lack of) and seat selection 2)most other travel companies we've worked with won't let you specify the exact flight or itinerary. And they can surprise you with a lovely last minute 3 segment flight through middle America, when you know direct or 2 segment flights are available 3)if you want to do any of those things they charge you a custom air fee

ABD was great! My TA took the exact flights, seats and our ff# and booked it with ABD for the exact same price. There was literally no downside to booking with ABD and the the upside of having them " take responsibility" for any fees if they have to cancel an itinerary. I will also mention for our trip the pre and post nights were essentially the same price as what we could get booking on our own ( once you add the taxes etc) and we get breakfast and transfers. We have not felt that ABD is tacking on extra charges- just making it all more convenient!

There's no sure way. You can call ABD, and depending on who you talk to, they might give you a percentage of how full the trip is. Then you can figure the number from that. In general they won't give you an actual number, but some of them will give you an idea. Others will say they can't tell you. It's inconsistent.

Judging by how the price of my trip jumped again, I don't think I have much to worry any more about minimum capacity - that may be the best indicator that the trip is selling decently.

I think that is an excellent indicator.
