Minimum age to do the dessert party alone?

What do you feel could happen?

My friends and I had the run of (what was then called) Marriott's Great America all day without parents starting at 10 and ending at park close. It was awesome. And from what we know factually (vs our knowledge of things we never would have heard of before, which makes it seem scarier) the world is safer now than it was then.

I think the biggest difference then vs. now is the awareness of liability. Back then, if something happened, the first inclination wasn't "LAWSUIT!!" and people weren't worried about what 'might' happen and would they be held liable for something. Today, unfortunately, the possibility of lawsuits and the perception of liability, even when it's not something within the park's control is overwhelming, and controls many of our decisions.

We had two 13yo go alone. So, an adult is not required, but we did have to put an adult on the reservation. We checked them in. It was fine. They had a great time.

So, you booked it for an adult and a 13 yo and then just checked in two 13 yo, or did you book for one adult and two 13 yo (and pay for someone who did not attend)? Thanks!

I'm guessing as others have referenced the adult is just for credit card purposes. It seems unlikely that Disney requires someone 18 or over to actually attend every TS meal.

Let me see, two unaccompanied 10 year old kids, after dark, at a party. It doesn't seem at all like riding Tower of Terror to me. And it doesn't seem like a good idea to me, either.

I understand it's not for everyone or every 10 yo, but my DD has been to WDW 15+ times, knows the parks very well, and is very responsible. She won't drink off of anyone else's table, annoy other guests (apart from some likely giggling) or become scared/confused.

Riding ToT unaccompanied seems like it could potentially be the more challenging scenario, as the ride could break down and she could be stuck. But she's been riding by herself (and exploring the parks to a limited degree) since she was 8, so I am very confident in her.

As to other guests, if someone is misbehaving, I'm not sure what I could do to protect her better than she could herself. She and her friend would be very capable of alerting a nearby CM if anyone was causing them issues. She's seen plenty drunk people at F&W and has lived to tell the tale. If anything, she is normally amused by their antics. :)

ETA: She has a cell phone and charging privileges on her MB. If she runs into any issues, she knows she can reach me. If she needs money for anything, she is set. To me, personally, it's a very low-risk scenario with a high reward. I completely understand if others don't feel the same way. But I am really just concerned with whether this is actually allowed/feasible in Disney's eyes.

We booked one adult + one 13yo. We checked them in & said the girls would be attending, the CM was fine with it. They did have phones to reach us but that was not needed. All we got was a photo of all the desserts they were eating. LOL
