My son will be 10 1/2 this trip, and I am wondering if there is a minimum age for having charging privleges on your room ID? He would not be roaming anywhere alone or anything, but I was thinking if we were at the pool or a food court or something and he wanted to go up and get himself something to eat or drink it would be nice. He is not the kind of kid who would go charge a bunch of stuff he wasn't supposed to , and like I said, he wouldn't be out alone, but I just thought it might be nice to have the option available.

Thanks!

No - my Aunt just got back with her neice and nephew (in-laws)...they are your son's age and a bit younger and their parents were able to designate a spending limit per day for each of them. But, there is no minimum age - so your son should have the freedom to charge what he needs. :)

We gave charging privileges to our then 8 yr old son on the Disney Wonder. He bought a few cards to play the games in the arcade and bought a few pins. Not too bad. He doesn't have it at WDW, though, since he is always with us. He's 10 now.

where the kid charges $10,000......

Shouldn't be a problem because it is your credit card that is on the line. You can always ask at the frontdesk to be sure. My experience it that it is no problem for things like an ice cream, soda, etc. but they probably will check if a child wants to charge something expensive.
