Hi,

I browsed around the forums a bit and couldn't find an answer. I was thinking to book a cruise for spring break this year in April and am expecting now. Our daughter will be 6 months (24 weeks) but am wondering if they possibly calculate by calendar age? Meaning if she was born on the 27th of Oct she would be considered 6 months by Disney on April 27th. I would be a bit surprised if they calculate this way but just wanted to make sure before booking! Thanks!

I'd assume they would say she is 6 months on April 27th. 24 weeks is not 6 months. There are 52 weeks in a year, so 6 months should be considered to be 26 weeks.

The age specification is 6 months minimum. So she wouldn't be able to cruise until April 27th. They don't count 24 weeks as equaling 6 months.

Just curious: why would you be surprised that they would count by calendar months? That's how babies' ages are calculated. We may go by both weeks and months, but months are always calendar months, not lunar months (just as in pregnancy). Anyway, it's definitely calendar months for cruises. My third son born on May 9 sailed on the very first day he was eligible: Nov. 9. He and his older siblings were all a week or more late, so be sure to build some buffer in!
