Morning all, you've given me great advice on this in the past, hoping to ask again to ensure I work this as smoothly as possible as we get to the last few weeks before our trip.
Taking a big group in October, we're staying in grand villas. Had booked smaller digs at 11 months, found out right before 7 months that more were coming so started making the switch to GVs. Right now we have Tues/Wed in AKV-J GV, Thurs in AKV-K GV, and Fri back in AKV-J GV. The Thursday night wasn't available even right before 7 months (but before and after was, so I'm holding out hope), so wait listed that very early at 7 months. I have recently also wait listed AKV-K for the Friday night. In retrospect I should have done that one much earlier, but had a wait list placed on Columbus Day weekend so didn't have the ability.
Been stalking the RAT so much I've grown whiskers and a tail.
Just sayin.
Anyhoo, it's all starting to come down to the wire. I have both wait lists set to 7 days at the moment. The Thursday WL is for 10/13, the Fri is 10/14. The WLs are the exact same points as the active reservations, so that shouldn't be an issue. There are both 2016 and 2017 points in the mix, and our banking date is 9/30. I'm planning to bank by 9/30, and also have 2017 points available.
Here are some of the things I'm looking for advice on:
1) should I call MS and double ensure both WLs are set up to be a replacement of the existing ones, or does that introduce too much "MS change risk"? I did specify that online when I created the wait lists, but given if these ever come through it could be past the 31 day date, I don't want anything to go into holding due to an unknown MS error that I could have avoided somehow.
2) is 31 days pre-October 13 by end of day sept 11 or sept 12?
3) if the WL fills after 9/30 and I've banked my 2016 points, MS should utilize the points assigned to the current res, right? So those 2016 points would be used and not go into holding? If that gets messed up, should I in theory be able to get them to fix it? Same with if they for some reason didn't do a replace?
Many thanks!! We really don't want to have to switch buildings just to have to turn around and switch back the following night, but even more so don't want to lose points or God forbid lose a reservation!
