Minimalist touring

Now I'm questioning myself. I'm heading ton the world Nov 28-Dec 5. I LOVE Splash so I must go on it several times. My ones and ankles are not the best so planning on wearing my good support sneakers instead of sandals. That being said I don't wanna walk around all day in soggy shoes. I might have to bring one of those mesh pull string back packs. I'll still have to go through bag check but I won't have soggy shoes. Planning on being at the parks from rope drop to close so no time to be heading back to the room at Pop to change clothes and such.

You could wrap a poncho around your feet---I've tried before and it works.

Other than money and a paper with our plans on it, I always bring my chap stick, a couple advil in my pocket just in case, and a small anti bacterial bottle (bath & body works kind). So many germs in the parks and the last thing I want to do is get sick on vacation (or seek out a bathroom to wash my hands every 20 minutes).

I now have to carry diapers and other things for little ones, but prior to that I was a very minimalist tourer:

Wallet with cash, 1 credit card, insurance card and KTTW card
Water bottle strap so that I could carry any water we didn't finish
Camera

Fair-skinned readheads here, so I have to have sunscreen in the parks as we typically need to reapply 2x during the day after the initial application in the hotel room.

Cell phone - much as I HATE to need it, I do. Between MDE, having a clock available to check FP return times & texting DH if we get separated, it's necessary.

A bottle of water & some crystal light packets - I can't drink ice water OR soda/juice ALL day long.

I hear ya on the sunscreen. I'm also a ginger and burn like crazy. I think I'll prolly be mostly covered on my next trip although I've heard for Nov/dec you kinda have to pack lots of diff items. Who knows what mother nature will do. It actually snowed in central IL yesterday.

The only think I bring into the parks that I don't carry everyday like my wallet and cell phone is a camera. I don't see any need to bring anything else with me.

Other than our wallets, all we bring are our iphones (we use them for taking photos too), hand sanitizer, and any necessary meds (advil, tums etc). All stored in a small vera backpack that I carry.

If wallet is not included, i managed 10 days in the parks last month with nothing at all...

No Phone, no camera, not a thing, and it was totally liberating.

Me too!:rotfl: The only thing I carried when I was there in Sept was a Vera Bradley zip ID that had one of those little clear wallet divider thingy's in it, that held my ID, CC, AP, room key, Disney gift card, and maybe a $20.00 bill. I also had a little lip balm stuck in there next to the divider thingy. I had the VB zip ID in one cargo pocket and the keys to the rental car in the other.

I applied spf 100 sunscreen and Body Glide before leaving the room. Cell phone stayed in the room safe, camera stayed at home this trip, and sunglasses were on my head.

Oh when we drive there are the keys to carry too. I usually give those to DS.

If a wallet with card/some cash doesn't count, my three things would be:
My phone
My camera
Blistex

And really, that's about all I plan to take. I am planning a trip in November and I really want to bring my DSLR camera, but also want tone as minimalist as possible. So I bought a small, fits-exactly bag for my camera and can wedge my phone in the one small pocket it has.

My three things, if I had to limit myself, would be sunscreen, camera and ibuprofen.

Any other necessities I could get from the parks or return to the resort if needed.

That being said, I can't see me limiting myself to these three things! One thing I can definitely say I will NOT be carrying is my phone - leaving it behind for two weeks is one of the things I'm most looking forward to :rotfl:

:worship::worship::worship: I am envious! My bag size expanded with the addition of each child...now I shlepp 5 people's must-haves in a backpack. I am an MK sherpa!!!

I totally, totally feel your pain. I have to carry things for eight people and this thread is making me jealous! If it were just me, I could get by with my ticket and phone (for pics and videos), but I at least need to bring diapers, wipes, a change of clothes for the baby, ponchos for the kids (I swear they were cats in a previous life) and the double stroller, if nothing else. We do get the dining plan now to help out because bringing drinks and snacks for six kids for an entire day is not fun and makes the bag (which is actually a huge WDW tote) much more heavy.

Phone, camera, Tylenol

I travel very light. If my DS is not with us I don't even need the Tylenol, he's the one prone to headaches.

I tried to go completely bagless once and it didn't work out well for me. I carry a small crossbody bag that has:

Iphone ( as the years have gone by, I use this as my camera too)
sunscreen stick
small wallet
lipgloss and powder
Advil, small roll of tums, bandaids
Sometimes a charger or battery case is on my phone. My 5s has great battery life though, so I may chance it and see if I can go without.
Disposable poncho if it looks overcast. But, being that it's Florida, I've misjudged before!:lmao:

(1) My iPhone. Useful for keeping in contact with my family, queue entertainment, checking Lines app and MDE.

(2) Outerwear for when it's cold and/or rainy.

(3) Small string bag (fits in jacket pocket) for when it dries or warms up to stuff the jacket into.

The MB means that I don't even need to take a wallet except for when I need an ID for a drink.

Pretty sure DH and I are the most minimal people on the planet for travel, Disney or anywhere. I take a small wristlet with my phone, room key, (won't be needed now with magic bands) credit card, a few $20s and ID. Sometimes if I'm feeling crazy I'll include a lip gloss and maybe mascara but only if it fits in the wristlet. DH puts that in his pocket so we skip the line and he carries a cc, phone and his ID. We slather on sunscreen before leaving the room and buy whatever we need to eat/drink in the parks. I can't imagine a trip with a backpack, etc. but our lives and even our home is very minimalist. We enjoy the clean lines of the post modern art movement and kinda just go with it in life in general. Do we spend more on bottled water, booze, whatever? Yes. Its worth every penny to us!

After a day that I felt like I was carrying my entire house my husband and I instituted the backpack rule. We only take what fits in one normal size back pack. A few bottles of water, a couple snacks, a change of clothes for each of my kids and that's it.

Phone, money, Id goes in a pocket

What kind of bag is this? I really don't wanna be carrying a purse (skip.bag check). My must haves....money, phone, phone charger, sunscreen, advil and snacks. I would forgo the snacks, but I have to eat gluten and I think also now dairy free and would just be cheaper and less stressful bringing my own thing.

Believe it or not, a small bag I found at Walmart! It's more of a wristlet, but I cut the short strap off, and added the long strap from an old cross-body. May not be much of a fashion statement, but I have never been a slave to fashion!
