My honey sent me a miniature rose plant for Valentines Day :) Its sooo cute I cant wait to plant it. The directions say to plant them after there's any danger of frost (this can be a while- everyone in the northeast knows what I mean! ) Does anyone have one of these? Any tips on keeping it in good shape til its planted- ad beyond?

No tips. GG, just wanted to say that was nice of him to send. You will have to post pictures this summer. :sunny:

keep it in the brightest window you can find. If the leaves start turning yellow you still don't have enough light. I love the miniature rose bushes and they do grow very well after you plant them. Mine are doing great, I have them mulched and I do water them if I know that it's going to be dry (not really a problem in my part of the state this year).

No help here, I always kill mine! That was very sweet of him. :D

Its been nothing but bad weather here, I put them in the window, but there's little sun these days. I do keep them watered, but they dont look so good, petals and leaves are falling off already. Help! I dont want them to die before I get to plant them in the Spring!

Oh the website picture of the plant is beautiful.

Drastic conditions call for drastic measures. I think you may need to invest in a plant light since it seems you don't have enough natural sunlight. I have no idea of cost... I'm thinking it can't be expensive but I never bought one so I don't know.

Anyone else....???

Oh Wow Snowwark. I wish I had read the second link you posted above years ago. I have a florescent light over the washer and dryer and I recently had to ditch some African Violets that I had for quite a long time because, well, they died! I could have put them on top of the washer and dryer with the light on according to that link and maybe they would still be here.

My primroses may benefit from a move to the washer and dryer with the light on them. They are starting to look a little faded. I think I will move them before going to bed tonight. Thanks for that link. :D

HA! I moved my primroses onto a large tray, brought them over to the washer and dryer and put the light on. I also took the time to water them. I then went to bed.

Teenson came home and shut the light out. I discovered that early this a.m. So, I turned the light back on. Upon leaving for work, I found the light off again! DH must have turned it off prior to him leaving for work an hour before me!

If I want this to be beneficial to my plants, I guess I better communicate to my family that this light is to stay on when I have it on.
