Mini-Van rentals

Has anyone made a mini-van reservation with Dollar and when they arrived to pick up the vehicle, they didn't have any mini-vans left. I am concerned with all these rental car companies allowing people to make reservations with out a credit card securing it, that they are over-booking their rentals. I will have a party of six going to Disney soon and I need to make sure I get at least a mini-van size to transport them all.

Yes, and they tried to offer me a premium sedan. I told them that I paid for a van and unless they found me another vehicle as big and it seated 6 people that I didn't want it. After about a 15 minute wait they called over to Virgin (which is next door to them in the garage) and borrowed a van from them.

I had that problem at Midway last August with Dollar and will not rent from them again. They had a small lot and only ONE car available at noon - a Taurus. They asked if we wanted to wait because they should have a van in the next hour or so (yeah, right). The last thing you want to do on vacation is wait around at the airport for a car that you reserved 6 months ago.
We took the Taurus and left. We had a 3 hr drive to get to our destination and wanted to get on the road. But that was it for Dollar. Never again.
