Mini Van Rental?

Does anyone have any suggestions on a way to get our rental costs down a bit? Right now I have a mini-van on reserve through Dollar for a total of $591.03 for 11 days. We really have to stick with a mini-van so a smaller car isn't an option. We are picking up the vehicle at LAX on 5/29 and returning on 6/9 if that makes a difference. The prices have gone up a lot since our last trip 2 years ago!

On Dollar's website they are advertising a "Nationwide Minivan Special" at $39.00/day or $239.00/week, but there seems to be something wrong with the website right now because when I clicked to get more info., it took me to the site map page. Maybe you could call and inquire about the special and see if your dates qualify.

Thanks...I saw that on Dollar's site but it wouldn't work for me at first. I finally got it to come up (promo code is 9COM4) but it isn't valid for LAX for my dates.

have you tried priceline? I booked months ago, but for the last week of april, I got a nine day mini van rental for $340 all inclusive, out of Long Beach.

PRICELINE all the way!
We used priceline last year for our minivan rental at SNA and paid $22/day!! It seems like the rates are a lot higher right now but I am booking earlier so I can wait. I think you would be really impressed. Check out biddingfortravel.com (scroll way down for the rental cars section) then look for any winning bids for a minivan at LAX. That will give you an idea of what to bid. I will check now for you myself and see what I can find.

Keep checking Thrify and Hotwire. Last Sept I got a Minivan from Thrifty for $13 day.
