Day 4 Wednesday, April 17, 2002 Up and straight to AK for our PS at Donads Breakfastasaurus. While everyone waited to pay the check I ran to the Safari to get Fast Pass. After breakfast, we went to see the new Chester & Hester area. Very cute. We rode Triceratops Spin, loved it! If you have been on Mulholland Drive at Calif. Adventure, this is the same ride with a twist
literally! J We then headed to the Safari and Bugs Life. Saw a couple other things, picked up our pictures and headed back to the room.
After a nice afternoon in the pool we got ready and headed to Boma. I love this place and cant wait til 5/24 to eat there again. We showed my in-laws around AKL. We then headed back to the Boardwalk. At the Boardwalk we rented surrey bikes. Such fun, but its amazing how people wont move to the side. You rind the bell, yell Excuse Me and nothing. Very frustrating!
Day 5 - Thursday, April 18, 2002 - Off to the Magic Kingdom. As we approached MK my in-laws saw the Grand Floridian and wanted to see it, so I headed off to Guest Relations to get PS for afternoon tea. Shortly after rope drop we went on Haunted Mansion and then headed to Cindy's for breakfast. I love the healthy breakfast here. My in-laws loved the castle. We spent a really nice day at MK doing a lot of things we usually don't. We saw the Country Bear Jamboree, rode the River Boat and saw the Hall of Presidents (I hadn't seen this since probably Reagan was in office!) At this point it was time to head to the GF for tea. I love tea here. It is done so nicely. This is one or our favorites to relax in the afternoon. After tea we headed back to rest a bit and then get ready to go to Epcot and have dinner at Chefs de France. We had a lovely corner window. During dinner we people watched and had a front seat to watch the Mime! I love this guy! I had escargot (DS was grossed out) and the nicoise salad both were very good. After dinner we took a leisurely walk and staked out a spot for Tapestry of Dreams. DS & I really like the new parade. We then walked to Italy, turned around and headed to the UK. DS & I played in the maze and we all checked out the Heraldry shop. I found my maiden name and bought the history and coat of arms. My parents anniversary is Tuesday and I think we'll give them that!
After a short stroll on the Boardwalk we headed to our room to pack.
Day 6 - Friday, April 19, 2002 - Up and packed. Headed to the pool for the morning. Lunch at ESPN and off to the airport and home.
Final Thoughts: This was a much different trip, done at a much slower pace. We've actually found since joining DVC that our pace has slowed and we enjoy things that we may have taken for granted if we didn't go as frequently.
