Mini TR re 1st visit to AK Villas

So glad we got to visit the AK , our 'cozy' value studio #5112 was a delight (even after switching over from a large 2 room suite @ the Portofino )

even liked the clean carpet, everything in good repair

this guy liked to play with his food

imo one of the nicest hot tubs onsite

construction wasn't particularly bothersome either

Honestly, the first resort I would've been happy to just while away the day & skip the parks (can't believe i said that lol) hope to be back, soon!

only 2 'slightly' negative issues to mention:

*bell services misrepresenting wait time for luggage delivery, after i was very clear that we were in a hurry & would hoof our own bags if necessary. Initially promised no longer than a 1/2 hour wait, then after 45 min when i called down, was told at least another hour if not longer. we went to collect our bags ourselves so we could change & head off to the parks & a bellman materialized

*from what i heard from a couple of disgruntled guests in line @ Mara, they were served raw chicken & other inedible food over course of several days; im sure they've worked that out by now though . We had chicken fingers & shrimp platter & it was fine.

It is a great choice, if the economy hadn't taken such a downturn it'd have been difficult to pick between AKV & BLT for an add-on after experiencing all AK has to offer

funny to see myself in commando getup...where else could u dress like this & not get a 2nd glance

will note that we did take DS out of school for the trip, part of his assignments was to compile photojournal for his art teacher who was particularly interested in the AK displays that he termed "...a treasure...museum caliber"

We are staying at AK for our trip next year and I am super excited! Seeing your "mini trip report" just got me more excited. Time is never going to go by fast enough if I keep reading all these things...ha ha ha

Thanks for the great pictures...we'll be making our reservation next month for week in a 2 bdrm savanah view for Nov 8, 2009. Can't wait for our first visit to AKV.

We stayed at AKV for the first time last month, we loved that hot tub!!! The only thng was it was a wee bit too hot if you can believe it. The men had a really hard time getting in. (if you know what I mean!)
