mini review of HRH June 8-10

Wow is all I can say!!!

The service, cleanliness and the overall hotel itself.

We had booked a standard room with entertainment $162 and got a standard garden view room on the 6th floor facing the gardens and the waterway. We did have loews blue but that didnt help much. Our room was perfect though. Very neat and clean. They had little bottles of body wash, hair rinse, shampoo, lotions in silver bathroom accessories. really cool and kept with the theming of the hotel. The only thing that could have used a good cleaning was the carpet.

Great service everywhere like when you walk back in from the rain, they hand you warm towels to wipe off at the gate near the beach bar and inside the hotel where you enter the pool. Nice touch.

The pool was Always crowded. It was fun especially the slide. The only thing I did not like about the pool was it only had a small shallow area. Everywhere else it was only 3 ft. They closed the pool quite a lot due to rain.

I did notice that this hotel had a lot of families with teenagers and older children. Of course there were smaller kids too but a LOT of teenagers since I guess the themeing would appeal to many teenagers including my 13yr old.

They did add a mini bar charge even though we didnt request a key but they took it off.

The hotel was very busy during our stay. I did see a lot of owners with dogs in the elevators and in the hotel. Also saw them walking their dogs in the garden.

Also loved seeing those handsome guys in the black suits at checkin lol This coming from a married mom.

Glad to heard you enjoyed the scenery! I'll be on the look out in August! Was the room big enough for 4, without feeling crowded? Is there a couch/sleeper in the room? Or is there enough room for a roll awaybed? We had two kids, ds, dd, old enough not to want to sleep in the same bed! Thanks for the info.

Hi,

The room which was a standard room will be not feel overcrowded for the 4 of you. There are 2 queen beds, a sofa and ottoman, table and 2 chairs and yet there is plenty of room to move around. The bathroom is very nice size and has a separate room for showering. I hear that the Deluxe room is way bigger but also bigger in price lol. standard was just fine for me and my 2 kids.

We'll be there 11/11-13 for the first time. First time staying anywhere but Disney and we're really looking forward to it! It will be just DD10 and I so am sure the room will be just fine space wise. It sound like your room was so big--are you sure you weren't in a deluxe?

When you check in did you ask for any certain location and did they accomodate you? I'd like to be close by the lobby and higher floor.

Some other questions if you don't mind...
Is there boat transport to both parks? Does the boat let off close to the park entrances? We we've gone before we've always hated that long, long walk through City Walk back to parking garage or mears tranport area.

Did you do the 'dive in' movies and if so, stategies for getting place to sit?

We had a standard room which was quite big. The deluxes have a full size sofa in it and ours had a sofa chair and a cool ottoman and a round table and 2 white leather like chairs with Silver mirrors and lamps. Really cool looking room.

We had plenty of space in our room to move about freely. The room looked quite large but it was a standard room.

Yes there is boat transportation and bus transportation. But it is easier to walk to Universal since it is like less than 5 minutes. You will not have to go thru Citywalk at all during your stay since the walkway from the hotel goes directly to the gate of Universal studios.

We did not have dive in movies during our stay because we were there on midweek. They usually have it I believe on Friday Night.

The checking in guy basically repeated what I have reserved a standard garden view and I said yes and that if possible would love a higher floor and he gave us the 6th floor which was perfect in every way. I would definitly request 6th floor next time also. The view was perfect of the pretty gardens and waterway.

I also checked in early at 10 am and got our room keys even though our room was not ready and left for the parks. I called later around 1pm and our room was ready.

GM, Really appreciate the info!

We're moving from Disney that Thursday over to HRH so we'll be up and out early to check into HRH by 8:30am or so. The reservationist also told us we'd be able to use our FOTL that day so that works out perfect.

It will be fun I'm sure!

I would like to know if you are a LOEWS member and did you receive any extras? Did you experience any of the technical difficulties on the attractions that are so often mentioned?

Hi!!

Yes, we were loews Blue member but it didnt do anything or help much. No cookies and milk because we were on the Entertainment Discount where Loews card do not get loews benefits.

The rides were down quite a few times we were there. The Spiderman ride broke down while on the ride so we went back again, still broke and again still broke and than the 4th time it worked. This was all during the same time though. The next day we went there were no problems. On the Spiderman ride, the cars and sound were working but no picture.

The Mummy ride broke down 2 out of the 3 days we were there so we went to other rides and when we came back they had opened up.

Also the Dr. Seuss Ride Cat in the Hat had technical difficulites and was closed for a while so we never got to ride that since we were leaving. This was on June 10th.

Everything Else was great!!
