My parents and I went for my 20th birthday sun. adn mon. and it was awesome!
I have a few comments on some of the more important things at DL
hotel: We stayed at the Tropicana Inn and Suites. Overall....nice hotel. It was just right for one night. The convenience cant be beat and it is free parking. That being said if we were going for 3 or 4 nights, we would have stayed at one of the hiltons or marriotts farther down on harbor blvd. and driven to the park. If we go for longer, we spend more time at the hotel and the hampton inn was the same price as the tropicana and its nicer IMO.
Celebrat Street
I might be the only one but I loved it!! We saw it both sunday adn monday. Ive heard form some people that you dont see a lot of characters but there were tons there this weekend. The music adn the dancers are amazing!! I might also be biased becasue i was pulled to dance one of the dancers who was really really cute
Overall, I liked it better than the previous afternoon parade.
Magical Fireworks: Okay...this i will admit. Not as good as the previous fireworks. Its shorter and there are not as many fireworks. Personally, i think they were tryign to figure out a way to creat something "new" that they could advertise for the summer while trying to do budget cuts. But thats just my opinion. BUT.....that being said....seeing Dumbo fly was amazing. Just FYI: He flys and Tink fly on both sides of the castle so neither side is really better to see them but the fireworks seemed to be mostly on the left side when you're facing the castle
Fantasmic: Okay. I liked it. BUT i do think WDW fantasmic is better. I love the peter pan adn captain hook part whihc i dont think is in teh WDW one adn i love the music adn teh intensity of the show but i prefer WDWs. They seem to have more floats and characters at WDW than at DL. But, i would definitely go see it again at DL.
Ride wait times:
None of our wait tiems were bad at all. The longest we waited for anything was 30 minutes and that was for Toy Story Mania. Most rides were either walk ons or like 10 minute waits except for soarin which was 20 mins.
Disclaimer: We do not do the 3 mountains. The longest wait time we saw for those was 45 minutes for Space Mountain, 70 minutes for Splash Mountain (it was sooo hot on sunday) and 40 minutes for big thunder. But they could have been longer, we just werent paying attention.
We used 1 fast pass teh entire 2 days for grizzly adn we didnt even need it.
Food:
We ate at Goofys Kitchen, Carnation Cafe adn Pizza Port.
Goffys Kitchen. We had no reservation and no wait at 6:40PM sunday night. The food was amazing. I cant comment on the desserts though becasue im allergic to eggs so i didnt eat any of them. We saw the usual characters (pluto, goofy, chip and dale) but we also got to see jasmine adn the fairy godmother. Overall, it was an awesome meal.
Carnations Cafe: Good food, reasonably priced adn again, no reservation adn no wait at around 11:45 AM
Pizza Port: CS pizza. It was pretty good, but so overpriced.
Overall...AMAZING TRIP. and you get so many CMs who say happy birthday including the dancers during Celebrate if they see your birthday button.
