I'm not sure if this has been posted yet, but I thought I'd share. At Wal-Mart today, I found a mini version of the misting fans that are must-haves for summer trips. They have a caribener clip to attach the fan to your backpack, belt loop, etc., take only one battery, and cost $3.00. The downside? It can't hold much water, so this wouldn't be a good choice to buy one for a whole family. It would be fun to buy each family member their own, however. Also a great idea to add to goody baskets/bags for the parks. It is much smaller and lighter than the full-size. My full-sized fan never worked right anyway, so this year I'm traveling light! :thumbsup2

That is so cool! Thanks for the tip - I hesitate to carry around the full-size misting fan (too heavy and clunky) but might do the smaller one!!

Sounds great! I was going to accidentally "forget" our full size ones for our next trip! ;) In what department did you find these at Wal-Mart?

I am trying to remember exactly where they were. I know they were on a small display that was probably either meant to be free-standing on a counter or at the end of an aisle, but the display was lying down. I guess they were new, and no one put the display up yet. I believe they were in the home improvement section, somewhere near the fans. They may have actually been on the paint counter, but I can't remember for sure. I would check there and in seasonal, near sunscreen, etc. Good luck - I haven't tried mine yet, but it looks neat! :thumbsup2

We found a mister at Wal-Mart the other day that you wear like a fanny pack. It's called the Cool Blast by Misty Mate. It holds up to 16oz. of water and it uses a pump instead of batteries. The tank is insulated to help keep the water cold and has a 3ft cord with alligator clip so you can attach it to your shirt or what not and it weighs around 2lbs.

Go to Misty Mate dot com and click on new items. It the third one in the second row. The website sells them for $54.99 but we got ours for $13 and change at Walmart in the Fan and Air Conditioner section.

Gave it a test run and it worked like a charm. I even caught DW using it to mist her plants. :rotfl2: Can't wait to use it when we get to the World in June.

I have a Misty Mate and it definitely comes in handy at the kids softball games and such....but we found it was too heavy and bulky to carry around the parks all day.....maybe there is more than one size and we have the big one?

Purchased the ones the OP refered to at Walmart in the seasonal pool toys section. $2.97 plus tax. The brand is 02 cool.

Thanks for posting that is this the one you got?

Do any of you know if we can purchase these way up north here at our WallyMarts??? :confused3

I've been looking at stores in MA and haven't had any luck. If anyone in MA finds them, can you let me know. I don't want to have to go to Sharper Image and pay $13 a piece!

Thanks!

Nancy

We bought two of the mini misting fans last weekend and are going to try them out on our trip. We found them on an endcap right next to the large fan section. :)

Ok I'm going to go and check my Wal-mart out tomorrow. I will report back on what I find. I first saw them on this website

We live in Chicago and were able to pick up two of these at our local Jewel/Osco!
Thank you Donna Rae!!! I haven't seen them yet, but now I'll LOOK. :magnify:

ok no luck at my wal-mart on the mini fan. I did find the larger misty n spray fans there for $2.00. I will have to check out another store or maybe check out CVS. I looked at Target as well, but did not see any there.
