Mini meets?

Just wondering if anyone else has set times for their mini meet besides Barry.

I want to attend a few so trying not to conflict with the Pin meet

I am under the impression that noone was going to set up the mini meets except for the person who wishes to host one.

I think we just say when, where, and what kind of mini meet it is, then Linda will post it somewhere for everyone to see (maybe here on the board, and/or maybe in the newsletter, and/or maybe at the Reception Desk on the first night of DIS-Con), and then whomever wants attend can do so, by just showing up or 'signing up' in advance.

But I'm pretty sure, the mini meet hosts are solely responsible for their own mini meets. Please let me know if this is not correct. ((I've been known to be wrong once before. ))

I have to say, this craziness is fun!!!!!!!!!

Hi!

Well you are both kind of right -LOL...

We will have all the mini-meets set up on an itinerary that will balance them throughout the event, at the same time I (or Marsha, who is really in charge of these) will insure that it is a good time for the host. We just want to make sure that the meets are not all on one day and spread throughout the event. Some meets will be scheduled. For example we'll have pin trading meets before or after some of the 'big events' the Pleasure Island meets afte the Tower of Terror event as we'll have a bus gong to DTD, and I'm trying to plan that the Xmas decorations tour ends at the Grand for the 'Tea Party' mini meet. Don't know if I'm able to do this yet, we'll see... at any rate I think that sounds like a great combo that I will be sure to attend

I don't think we will release the mini meet itinerary till the end of August or early Sept., meets can/will be added up until the day the convention starts. There will be a schedule enclosed in your registration packet, we may also have a sign up for a few that requires reservations of sorts but most will be very informal

Thanks everyone! Does anyone else actually enjoy all of this 'uncertainty' and 'caos' the way that I do???? I am LOVING it, really I am! I know, I'm weird!

I'm sure once this gets really close, I'll want to have a little more 'certainty' and a little less 'caos', but for now, the planning has been fun!!!

Thanks Linda for the reply to this question.. Yes, I am in charge of coordinating with all you guys who have agreed to host mini meets here.. We want to make sure we spread out the events and do not conflict with other things.. Linda and I will then work out the specifics... I know it is getting close, EEK, as I just made my plane reservations and car rental reservation..

Please stay tune to my chat shedule, not this Wednesday, but next, I am planning to have our ever popular Convention specialist, Linda, come and do another Convention chat..

A fantasyland meet would be great on Thursday. If it could be before the park closes, it could be the start of the MVMCP. Start in Fantasyland, go to dinner, then head back out into the park for the MVMCP.

You might want to avoid 11/29 for the mini meets since I will be doing the thrill ride tour then all day. I would like to attend the other meets too. I got to ride some emus!

Since I am going to be one of the Hosts for the "behind the Scenes" tour, will you be checking with us on which days they will be held beforehand, so we can plan our iteneraries accordingly.

I am really getting excited about it, and would love to know what Day it will be on, so I don't plan on something else.

Since I am hosting the tea party, I wondered if I was supposed to set that up. But, if I read this correctly, it will be prearranged for me. I was also hoping that the mini-meets would be scheduled in such a way that I can attend all the other meets, too! I would never want to miss the emu riding!!

Thanks....I was kind of thinking about Thursday too. I was kind of thinking that the people who would be participating in Barry's Thrill Ride meet would probably (for the most part!) NOT be as excited about a Fantasyland Meet...and vice versa. Mostly vice versa!!!

I don't think it will be possible to have as many mini meets as we're talking about here without overlapping some of them.

I better lay out my itinerary so I can play with it.....start getting this all straightened out!

I was thinking of registration day for a pin meet since we will all be passing through the BW area.
Either registering or heading to Atlantic. The Pin cart on the BW is always a fave and I can talk to Leighton during the AUgust pin event.

The mini meets will be spread throughout the event. Some will overlap, some like pin trading will occur daily. These are meant to be small events not all '300'of us attending - can you imagine the scene as 300 DIS'ers approach Dumbo

I like the sound of an afternoon tea after touring the resorts to see the Christmas decorations. That would be the perfect end to the tour.
Each time I read the different goings on, I get more and more excited. I am not sure how we are all going to be able to hang in there for 4 more months.
