We arrived during the busiest time of year, Dec 30 (late, no dinner) through Jan 5.

Day 1-
Garden Grill- Food was ok but the salad needed dressing (it was dry!) and the fish seemed a little dry and bland this time. We were a party of 5 with 4 adult males. We asked for extra beef after the first 2 plates served 1 small slice to each person. They started sending out the beef ends rather than the center slices. We got one plate entirely of ends. I remember thinking ‘wow that’s weird’ but it was NYE and crazy and I didn’t have the energy to complain.

Character interaction was good as usual.

We thought it was odd that the server wanted to shake each of our hands when she came to the table to introduce herself. We always wash our hands right before dinner so this was weird and annoying. She had a pesky personality, too.

Overall: Could have been better.

Day 2-

Day 2-
Liberty Tree Tavern lunch. They had a ‘fish special’ that was similar to UK fish shop for $18.99. DH said the fish was kind of greasy and not enough chips. 2 of us got pot roast. It was ok, but the gravy had a film on it when it was delivered, like it had been sitting under the heat lamps for awhile.

Could have been better.

Dinner was at Kona. 3 of us had the tuna with tempura veg wrap. It was ok, tuna was rare with a very spicy rub on it so be aware (I liked it). Veg wrap was bland. 1 person got the chicken with pumpkin and purple potatoes, sauce on the side. It was a curry sauce that was very good, but not to my plain-food loving son. So it was a very very small piece of baked chicken over a bed of small dice pumpkin and potatoes. Good for a plain eater with a small appetite, I suppose.

Food was ok but nothing special.

Day 3-

Via Napoli lunch. Oy. $165 for metro mezzo pizza, salad, 2 apps and 3 desserts.

We had a problem with the pizza because we ordered from the ‘special’ section: ½ pepperoni and ½ broccolini. We actually pointed to each thing on the menu because our waiter didn’t seem to speak English very well.

What they served was an entire pepperoni pizza with some broccoli rabe on half, over the pepperoni. I think the waiter must have been new. We were not told we could not order it this way or I wouldn’t have done it. They took this pizza back and made a new one, the right way, but it was rushed and so the crust was not crispy like the first one we saw. I was very sad. They charged us $41 for a specialty pizza and $3.50 for additional topping. Oh well.

Overall: Probably good use of a credit if you're on the dining plan, otherwise, price adds up quickly. If I had it to do again, I wouldn't get 'house salad' X 4. We seemed to get the same sized bowl that every other table got and it cost $28. I should have just had each person order their own app.

Dinner was at California Grill. We had a cocktail and each ordered sushi. We shared a dessert. This was plenty of food for us but we had snacks before we went so if you're hungry this may not be enough.

We were happy with the food and service.

Day 4-

Epcot day. At this point, I had decided to forgo further TS restaurants. We were paying a LOT of money for mediocre food.

We stopped at UK fish shop for lunch after we saw that the portions seemed to be generous enough. People have been posting here that they got 1 piece of fish, or 2 ultra small pieces. Our portions looked like they had in the past, with 2 good sized pieces of fish on each one.

The dummies next to us were feeding the animals, and the squirrels were going crazy climbing all over them. Like, all over their bodies!

Later on we went to Tangerine Cafe for chicken and lamb platters. We were all wondering why we waited so long to go there. It gets so many lackluster reviews here, but we thought the food was really good. Probably the best CS meal we had all week, and we ate there again before we left.

Day 5-

In MK so used our FP+ to go to BOG for lunch. The line for non-FP entry looked mighty long.

It was as expected. Onion soup was bland, so I just ate the cheese off the top and had a strawberry cupcake for dessert (that was very good). Others had the turkey sandwich (very good, crispy toasted bread and some kind of honey mustard on it) steak sandwich (just ok) and ham and cheese sandwich (liked it, but he was still hungry afterwards). French fries were very good.

We ate in the West Wing and it was dark. Watch the prince's picture during the loud thunder to see it change into the Beast.

For dinner, first we had snacks in lounge at BWI- food was provided by Kouzzina each night. It was ok but not wow. They had bread salad every night, then either a couscous salad or chickpea salad (which needed some dressing or something. It was like a bowl of chickpeas with a few cut up veg sprinkled in. It needed something.) One night there were chicken durban skewers-ok but needed more spice. One night veg quesadillas. One night pork in a sauce (very dry). Overall the snacks were meh. Cocktail hour was never as crowded as breakfast, and most people just drank and ate very little.

Then we went back to MK and got snacks at various places.

Overall: Food seemed very expensive this trip and the waiters seemed trained to upsell as much as possible. I think you can have decent food at a reasonable price if you select your CS carefully. Save your TS splurges for dining events such as character meals and you will feel that you got some value for your money.

I love the lamb Shawarma platter at Tangierine Café. My favorite counter Service meal. My experience at Yorkshire fish shop was terrible--greasy, mushy fish, just terrible. Only 5 fries! Small fish, would never begin to be counted as a meal, but so bad, I just threw it away. What a waste of $10! Went somewhere else and spent another $10-$15 to eat, after wasting the $10 at Yorkshire.
Thank you for your reviews.
