Did anyone do a cruise this July whilst in Florida. We have booked flights for next July & are thinking about doing a cruise (upto 7 nights) there will be 2 adults & 2 children 13 & 16. I like the look of RCL but would consider any.

My questions are

When did you book?
Who did you book with?
How much did it cost?

Did anyone book late & get a good deal for July this year.

Thank you

Never done a July cruise but done a few in August.

Unfortunately July is peak time for cruising, its when all the schools are on holiday over there. Luckily we go for most of August, mid August the prices start to drop.

When the £ was stronger it was far better to book a cruise with a US agent, like Dreamsunlimitedtravel. When the $ is stronger its better to book with a company like Thomas Cook and pay in £'s. Just now you need to check both , doubt there is much in it at todays exchange rates.

Usually you book cruises as soon as you can. If possible when they 1st release them for 2 reasons, you get the pick of the cabin you want and prices almost always go up. Our Disney cruise for next August has increased about 25% now since we booked and no inside cabins left. If the price does fall then you can usually get the lower price applied but check with the agent before you book(not sure with UK agent but certainly you can with a US agent)

For a quick price guide use cruisedirect.com I have used them for a RCL cruise before no problem, really easy site for pricing. Also Thomas Cook site for UK prices but there are lots more.

To give you a very rough idea on price I just got prices for a 4 night RCL from Port Canaveral sailing 25th July for 4 people in an outside cabin(inside sold out)

Cruise direct Grand Total (includes all taxes and fees): $2,072.28 USD (plus a $25 credit to spend onboard) converts to £1325.75 with a fee free credit card.
Thomas Cook £1234.50(if you remove the prepaid gratuity)

Also check other ports if you don't mind driving to them, could be cheaper than Port Canaveral.

To give you an idea of difference between peak (July) cruising and when we cruise end August(22nd) I just had a quick look, same outside cabin would cost you $1,372 ($700 cheaper) or lots of inside still available but only a few $'s cheaper than outside.

Just ask if you need any more help.
