Mine Train not open till close to June (maybe)

Was just talking with my friend that works in MK and he heard today that the Mine Train won't be opening the beginning of May. He only said 2 months, but he had to return to work before he could clarify whether it will be end of May or beginning of June.

To me it makes more sense to do that as to be more direct competition with Diagon Alley, that's the only reason I could see a delay like that.

I find that hard to believe since they've already set the media events and "grand opening" day.

While at work today, I was talking with a co-worker who just returned from their trip. She too said that a CM told her that the SDMT won't be opened until June. I took it with a grain of salt because CMs have been known to be wrong at times. However, after reading your post, it makes me wonder. We have a trip planned for the end of May/beginning of June and I am crossing my fingers that your CM friend is wrong along with the CM that chatted with my co-worker. We are already going to miss not riding the TTA while there, but knowing that we would more then likely ride SDMT, made that a bit better.

Oh no! I thought for sure it'd be open by our trip June 3rd-8th. I guess it could be opening during this time period, but now I'm a little nervous that I'll miss it by a week or so.

Is there any precedent for opening a ride a month after the soft opening?
My recollection is that Expedition Everest opened shortly after the soft opening. I don't remember there being a delay between the first riders and the official opening.

Oh no, say it isn't so. We are there for a quick stay, May 25 to 27 and were really looking forward to trying it out! I hope this rumor is wrong.

As an update, Fantasyland coordinators will be having their Seven Dwarfs Mine Train assessments in mid April.

I wouldn't think SDMT would be enough of a draw to take away from Harry Potter.... But then again, I'm early May so I'll claim denial!!!
