I was in the World on Saturday, May 14 for a solo trip to do attractions I had never done before. Overall, I had a great time and here I will summarize what I did.
I arrived at Epcot just before opening ceremony. It appeared to be pretty crowded. The crew of characters showed up on their bus, did the countdown, and the ropes were dropped. This was the first time I had ever saw this, and I thought it was cute, but not as cute as the MK opening ceremony. The sea of people waiting to get in all made a beeline for Soarin'. Ever so slowly, we made our way to the Land, down the stairs, and into the queue, where once I got there, there was already a 25 minute wait, and it was all of 25 minutes before I was seated in the ride, ready to go. I thought this ride was great, and I'm glad I did it first thing. Next, I went to ride Living with the Land, which I thought was terrible, maybe because the CM kept forgetting what to say. After that I saw Honey I Shrunk the Audience, which I thought was cute, and then I was off to see Journey into the Imagination, which I also liked. After this, I was off to Animal Kingdom.
I was very impressed with the bus service. I don't think I waited more than 5 minutes anywhere for a bus.
At Animal Kingdom, I rode Dinosaur, which had about a 30 minute wait. I loved this ride, and will definitely go back to do it again on a later trip. After Dinosaur, I went to Flame Tree Barebeque, because I was very hungry, and had heard great reviews about this place. There was a group of 3 people in front of me who were not very good with speaking English, but not terrible. The CM taking orders was very rude to them, rolling her eyes and talking back to them. I almost turned around at that point and would let her have it if she was like that to me, but she was very nice when it was my turn. Some people. I ordered the 1/2 chicken plate, which came with corn on the cobb and baked beans. The chicken was very dry, and there was not much of it. The baked beans were excellent. I will not go back here, and was overall unimpressed, maybe I expected too much.
Next, I went to see It's Tough to be a Bug, which I also loved. There was no wait, but even if there had of been, I wouldn't have minded, as there is so much to take in on that big tree.
Off to the buses to go to MGM, again no wait for a bus.
At MGM, I went to RnR (Which I had ridden before and loved) to get a fast pass. I then went to see Who Wants to be a Millionaire, which I was very impressed with. I would love to see someone win a cruise! After that, went to ride RnR, and then ToT had no wait so I rode that. Then I was off to ride Star Tours, which was so so in my opinion.
Off to the buses to Downtown Disney to do some shopping, again very short wait for a bus.
Went in a few stores and walked around, people watched and such. I was getting hungry, so I decided to go to Earl of Sandwich. I had been here before, and wasn't impressed, but thought I would give it another shot since I was right there. I ordered the Florentine. The line was not too terribly long, but went very slowly because all of the CM's were too busy joking around to pay attention to their customers. I finally did get my sandwich (Which isn't enough for 2 IMO) and sat down at the only available table, which was next to the napkins/forks, etc. As soon as I began to eat, a CM rolls two big garbage cans over next to my table to empty the trash. She continually bumped the cans into my table. I politely pushed the cans away and she apologized, but continued to do so. When the handle of one of her cans went across my sandwich, that was it. I got up and left. I didn't bother to complain, as it would have taken me an hour to get to the manager, but I will not be going back to this place.
Then it was time for me to head home. Short ride back to my car. Overall, I had a great trip and I hope you enjoyed my report!

Wow, you must have been exhausted! What a fun-packed day, a shame about the food choices though. Earl of Sandwich as far as food goes I have always thought was out of this world but I did sit inside. At least tell me you liked the first part of your sandwich?

Anyway, this is how to get value for money out of park hopping. Thanks for the great report,
Claire

Yup, that's a lot to do in one day. I suggest Wolfgang Puck's Express for counter service while at the marketplace / DTD. We were happy with the meal we had there. It was jammed packed at DTD when we were there and they efficiently moved everyone thru the line. It was pretty tasty too. I never expect that much from Disney restaurants. The best meal I've had on-site was from the Cali Grill..yum.

Thanks for the solo report. I'm doing my first solo trip next week and will be there all week long....should be interesting. I still haven't finished my report for April and I'm already going back! I've got problems.
