What's the youngest age child you've ever taken on ToT?

I am like a big child - going on ToT for the first time for me was terrifying - not the ride itself, but the hype of it. I was told it was a pretty intense ride and the eerie atmosphere only made me worse, almost to tears. On the line, however, we were surrounded by small children, children who could not have been any more than 6 or 7 years old, and they were fine. I sat next to a small little girl, who was fine for the ride. I think if you plan on taking on a small child, you should take them on during the daytime, because at night it is definitely a little extra scary (although, the view of MGM when you get to the top is amazing at night.)

I took my son on it at the tender age of 3 when it opened at California Adventure. He met the height requirement and we didn't know how bad it was since we'd never been on it. Poor thing was literally shaking with fear when we got off! :earseek: I figured since he was tall enough it must not be that bad! :sad2: Now he doesn't want to go on anything except the monorail, train and parking lot tram. :rotfl: Poor thing! My other one was 5 and he was ok with it but he's a daredevil. He went on California Screamin' just to prove to daddy that he wasn't afraid to go upside down.

My 6 year old DD loves this ride. Now my 12 year old Dd won't go on it. Go figure. I haven't been on it either, too chicken. However, DD 12 and I have decided we are going to try it this June. :flower:

My son was 4 1/2 last September, and he loved it!! We explained the whole ride to him so he knew what to expect!! He can't wait to go back on in three weeks! :goodvibes

I have a 3 y/o who could possibly be tall enough to ride when we go in Oct. She wants to go on it, but I don't know. We took our older DD when she was 5 and she liked the drop, but hated the ghosts. The 3 y/o is alot tougher that the other one though. It's hard to say. I know she's gonna pitch a fit when we tell her she can't ride. It's bad enough she can't ride SM, PW, or RnRC. It's a tough decision, but I guess we'll wait to see if she makes the 40" and then take it from there.

My 4yo loves ToT. We are going next week and I thought she would throw a fit about going to MGM the day we arrive, but was instead excited about going on ToT again.

We took our almost 3 year old on it last month he got a liitle scared but did ok on it only went once.. he loved splash wen about 10 times on it one night we stayed on it 5 times in a row and he kept asking for more..

I "tested out" ToT when we went in Feb-- ran out of time to take DD5 later that day. I've been preparing her for our trip this Dec.... telling her about the Twilight Zone scary parts. (I'm more worried about those than the drops.) She says she wants to go on it. She's seen the video clips on the Disney planning DVD so at least she isn't going in blind. I try to explain to her that the scary parts are just silly and she can close her eyes if she wants. But I know she'll love the drops.

Our son had just turned 4 the first time he rode it. He loved the ride, but didn't much care for the "electric people" (ghosts). When we were talking about going to WDW again the next year, he started talking about not wanting to ride it. We borrowed the movie from a friend, and it helped him understand more of the story behind the ride. He's ridden it MANY MANY times since then and loves it!

My youngest was 2 1/2 and rode it and loved it! My other three kids 17 loved it But the 10 and 11 yr olds wouldn't ride it they were to scared . My ds has rode it over 25 times in 5 yr span. It's his favorite ride there.

My son was a little over 3 when he rode it. He said he "liked" it, but I could tell it scared him a bit. I'm not asking him if he wants to ride it this year unless he brings it up himself. (I'm definately riding it, however, just not going to make a big deal about it in front of him)

I went on it when i was 5 and loved it but my brother who was 9 at the time was a little scared at first but loved it the second time we rode it............. What age were you thinking??????? :flower:

Emily rode it just before her 4th birthday, so 3 years old for us. She knew all about it from the DVD and insisted she wanted to ride. It's now her favorite ride :confused3

My 5 year old TARA loved it, she went on it 3 times in a row (child swap is awesome!) and begged to go more but we *did * want to see more of MGM, :rotfl:

The ride does lots of drops over and over again, not sure unless the little guy was a real roller coaster lover that it would be wise.
