Min 75 Direct, 200 resale

So I'm looking to purchase a total of 270 pts at OKW. I'm considering buying 75 direct and the remaining appx 200 resale. I know the resales are only eligible to stay in the original 14 resorts. Would the 75 direct + my 200 resale allow me to stay in the "new resorts, ie Riviera, etc) in the future? (I have no desire to stay Riviera anytime soon, i'm just thinking in years to come when it's not the "newest" resort).

You would only have the 75 direct points to book at Riviera. So you could bank, borrow and use current points for a total of 225 (3 years worth of points) at Riviera. The 200 resale points would not qualify...even if you own some direct points.

Sorry! Only the 75 direct points could be used at Riviera. That “privilege” is connected to the points themselves, not the owner.

So as others mentioned only your 75 points direct would be good at any newer resorts. The other thing to consider is that if you buy direct you automatically get the 2057 expiration so you need to decide whether or not you will be buying the 200 resale points with the 2042 expiration or keep your eye out for a 2057 or OKW-E contract. I think the extended contracts are a little harder to find. So you may want to buy your resale first buying an extended resale and then add on your direct contract -- it will be easier for DVC to match the UY to your resale vs you trying to find a resale which matches your direct contract.
