Millionaire at MGM ...question?

Being from Iowa, I should know this! The Eastern Goldfinch. And if it ever comes up, the flower is the Wild Rose.

Why couldn't you be my phone a complete stranger?? :lmao: Believe me, I don't think I'll ever forget the state bird of Iowa....this little gem of information will be ingrained in my mind forever!

tchrrx -- The first two shows during each day of Star Wars Weekends contain trivia about the movies....but also include production questions and facts, not just trivia found within the movies....we've been boning up on our trivia for next weekend!!

I was the latest million points winner #115 (may-13-2006). I am only the second winner for the year. I think the questions are getting much harder.

There is really a lot of luck in getting questions that you know or can quess, but it sooo much fun trying.

Can't wait till the cruise- jan 2007.

What kind of cruise they give out to the winner?

Also, could you exchanget for an annual pass for four, or get cash instead?

Leo, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

Fun isn't it! I'm number 97. Won 10/16/2004.

My DS (12) made it to the hot seat 2 years ago. We were in the first show so they started out with the fastest finger question. He entered in a random sequence for the letters. When he heard the answers, he knew he was in. Boy were his father and I surprised! He did well - I think he got oup to 32,000 points.

Thrilling- (my family thinks I am addictived), all I know is that I have been to WDW at least 20 times and I am financially ahead of the game.

Sharon, I see you are female too. I was wondering what the gender breakdown of winners might be. Similar to most trivia games at about 80(male)/20 (female). Or more females due to the fact it is WDW.

Congratulations leo178! Welcome to the club!

I've been trying to complile a list of million point winners based on people that I either know personally or have talked to on message boards and such. Admittedly, my list is still pretty small (only 12), but the male/female ratio is 50/50.

I'm hoping to get back down to the show in the near future. Would already have a trip planned if it weren't for a job situation that I've been fighting, but I think that is just about to be resolved.

At any rate, you'll have a great time on the cruise. And you should love the jacket too!

Boy do I feel foolish. This is your third win?!?! I just found your other post stating you were number 43 and 79. Well, that changes the percentages I quoted you in a sense, but if you only count each person once the 50/50 rule still holds. I've added your other wins to the master list I'm building.

Rob

Lisa, My gosh--a three-peet? Do the hosts and usual workers get the paperwork ready in advance when they see you come in? I've see the hosts say hello to the folks in the audiance by name. Have also see one lady on one trip who was taking notes after each question. That wasn't you was it?

Well again Congrats! Winning the cruise taught me that I love cruising! Went on a Carnival in April and already scheduled Princess for next Spring Break. Guess I could stand a short Disney cruise if I get so lucky next week!!!

Rob, How many multiple winners that you know off?

Sharon,

I know of someone that won twice at the much-missed DCA version of the show. I also know of someone else that won twice at DCA, but didn't truly win because their year of ineligibilty wasn't up.

As for the Disney-MGM Studios show, I've only gotten wind of leo178's repeats. Unless of course you count my win and my daughter's win with which I assisted. There could be others of course, but those are the ones I know.

Friday May 19th, during the special Star Wars Weekends Edition WWTBAM, a 15 year old named Nathan won 1,000,000 points. He receives the cruise and some special edition Star Wars stuff.

We've been tons of times, and this was my first time seeing someone win. It's very exciting. He was so nervous but breezed through the questions...had two lifelines left at the end.

A three night Disney cruise for four; and no, you can't exchange any part of the prize.

Thanks, kaytieeldr! Unfortunately, I don't do cruises. I'd rather they gave four APs ( I know, I know....as if I have a chance to get in the hot seat, much less to win! :teeth: )

My gosh, that is so great!!! Was wondering if anyone ever won the SWW edition. I'd bomb out by the 3rd question on that show.

I'd love to see someone win too!

Rob, they hosts aways say the youngest to win the cruise was 9. How old was you daughter? How was it that you got to help her?

Hey there,

I'm really hoping to go see WWTBAM at MGM while my boyfriend and I are there in August... and even more so hoping to get in the hot seat!

Has anyone ever gotten that far? How hard are the questions you get?

And what are the prizes (Besides the Disney Cruise if one were to win it all)?

Thanks! :)

I havent but my mom got number 6 on the board...she hasnt stopped bragging about it since we came back...2 months ago... :rolleyes2

Actually, the youngest was 9 years old until last June. My daughter was 8 years old when she won.

The answer to your other question has to do with her age. If a contestant under 10 years of age gets in the Hot Seat at Play It!, they are asked if they want there mother or father to assist them. Our daugther chose me to help. I was not allowed to give the answers for her, but I was allowed to help in any other way within the usual time constraints. They usually don't make a point of announcing that during the show until the situation arises.

How cool, Rob, for you and your daughter! Now I know what your Signature line means!

After a string (4 games of 32K or less) my family thought that TPTB were on the look out for me- but that can't possibly be true. I've only been in the hot seat 9 times. The attraction has at least 16 contestants a day. They do have local people that come 3 and 4 times a week. The regulars often get into the attraction with the hot seaters (at least that's what happened on my last two visits). Those are the people the staff call by name.
Last week when I won (May 13, 2006), they told me that one other man had won the cruise twice. Thay also said the youngest person to win was 2 years old (assisted by an able adult). Or maybe it was just in the hot seat- I forget the exact wording.
The first time I won I went to NYC (2003), the second time was the cruise (2004) and now another cruise (2007). I just hope they don't close down the attraction.
