Millenium Hilton, NYC

One more thing! I'd love to see your itinerary when it's done - I mean, you don't have to share personal stuff like names of hotels and dates (I'm not going to stalk you!!:rotfl: )

I'd just like to see where you plan to go! You are taking a road trip once you get to NYC - right! I love road trips!

Strange! My reply to that dissapeared in the other post.

Well, I´m glad you won´t be stalking us :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

You´re right. We´re going on a road trip from NYC to Orlando.
We will start with spending 4 nights in NYC and then we will drive to Washington DC. We will spend 2 nights there (haven´t decided on a hotel yet) and then spend 2 nights somewhere on our way to Orlando. We haven´t decided on places.

We will then spend 2 weeks in a villa in Orlando and fly back from Orlando.

I´ll try to post a trip report when we get back. :)

Its a Beautiful Hotel!:thumbsup2 Right across from the WTC site! Most everything in NYC is Uptown....but you will just have to take a taxi or subway to get there! Totally worth it!:thumbsup2

I use to worked in the area for 20 years:thumbsup2

Enjoy!!!!!

Not to MISS things.....Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building (keep in mind when you see it...it was built in a years time!) ANY Broadway show!:thumbsup2

I just stayed there and one of our group's rooms was with two doubles. There is only one room per floor with 2 double beds. It was a large room for two people. For six, just realize it will be tight.

Also, we got a $149 rate there through Hotwire.

We know it will be tight. However, we just really want to be able to get away with just 1 room. ;)
We´ll only be there to sleep anyway :)

It's a nice place. Haven't seen the rooms but we hosted a volunteer appreciation party there a couple of years ago and the service was fantastic.

You should know that due to it's location, there is VERY little to do in that area aside from:

-fairy to Staten Island (free and you get a close up view of Statue of Lib)
-fairy directly to Ellis Island and Statue
-South Street Seaport - not much more than than mall shopping these days
-Ground Zero
-DISCOUNT shopping at Century 21 (not the real estate agency but a huge discount department store)

Otherwise it's very very accessible by public transportation, thus just a few minutes from the Village, SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown, Tribeca, East Village, Times Square and points north.

Have fun!

We just returned last Monday from NYC after a 4 night trip, and although the weather was a bit damp and chilly, we had a great time!

Saw 4 shows in as many nights, and got lucky on our room too- as DH is retired military.

My DSis met us there on day 2, and it was her first time there, ever. I only hope that we showed her enough to enjoy her experience.

Anyway, we'd originally booked into the Comfort Inn on 46th Street with a AAA discount of $149 + tax per night. No breakfast included, but they had free high speed Internet in the rooms.

Have a wonderful trip! We return to NYC in July.

Thanks Rick! One question though. Is it the tag fairy that goes to Staten Island? :rotfl2:
