Who has the better milkshakes at Hollywood Studios - 50s Prime Time Cafe or Sci Fi Dine In? I probably won't eat a meal at either, I would just pop in an order a milkshake to-go. The online menus list them as the same price.

I think it depends if you want a specialty flavor or not. The PB&J one is FABULOUS from 50's and the oreo one from Sci-Fi is very good. If you're just doing vanilla or chocolate one is not better than the other for me.

agree with PP, depends on the flavor you want. My dd14 LOVES her some PB&J milkshake at the 50s! If she has a say that is where we end up.

I gotta give this one to 50's for their PB&J shake. ITS SO GOOD! But i agree that if you just want vanilla or chocolate, then there's no difference where you get it.

I am not a huge fan of milkshakes (i know, i'm weird :rotfl:) but, my DS ordered the PB&J Milkeshake at 50's PT and loved it! I actually tried it, just for the heck of it, and ended up loving it, it was sooooo good! :cloud9: It might sound yucky, but you can't taste any jelly, it was just so good. :goodvibes

Just an FYI about our experience-we tried to get a takeout milkshake from SciFi and they wouldn't let us. :confused3

The alcoholic milkshakes from SciFi are AMAZING!!!

I'm pretty picky about milkshakes. I've had a chocolate milkshake from both places. I thought the one at 50's Primetime was better.

I have been told that Sci Fi uses soft serve vanilla, and that 50's Primetime uses hand dipped ice cream. However, who knows if that is correct. Or maybe it was correct years ago. It would not surprise me if 50's was now soft serve too. What makes me think that Primetime uses the hand dipped ice cream was that they mixed it in a metal can and brought us the glass full and the partial metal can too.

Hope that helps a little.

PS I've also always wanted to try the bottomless milkshakes at the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge.

Never had a shake at 50's PT but we thought the one at Sci Fi was very good. We got a shake with our meal at WCC and we were disappointed. It was the very thick pre-made McDonald's type of shake. I got chocolate and it was evident they used a vanilla and put chocolate sauce in it because it was not mixed when I got it. It was still good, but I prefer the ice cream/milk blended ones like at Sci-Fi and 50's PT over the McDonald's type ones, personally. I should have expected this kind, though, since the ones at WCC are bottomless.

Good to know. Thanks! We had breakfast at the WCC. Didn't want to order a shake for breakfast especially since I had some waffles with syrup! That would be calorie overkill.

The chocolate milkshake I had at 50's was-no kidding-the best chocolate shake I have ever had in my entire life. It was incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!

Not sure if this is true but our waiter at 50's PT told me that the shakes at 50's are handspun and that they are not at Sci-Fi.:confused3
I've only had the shakes at 50's and they were very good! Don't think you can go wrong either way because they are Disney milkshakes! :cool1:

There's no calories at Disney World! ;)

:) The ones at 50's taste like hand dipped hand made milkshakes. Those at Sci Fi taste like soft serve. So of course it's 50's, hands down.

Now the one at WCC is a close second but I still think 50's is the real deal and outside of Beaches and Cream is probably the best on property.

I really need to get one from B&C to see who reigns supreme!! Please tell me that a place who makes Cream part of their name has milkshakes.

I'm not going to be headed over to WL or BC so WCC and B&C aren't in the running for me - but good to know for the future! (I'm dying to try the frozen sunshine!)

...and that grown-ups-only orbiting oreos sounds pretty deeeelicious!

Well that is disappointing to hear...Really, the Sci-Fi shakes are made with soft-serve? :( I was going to make it a point to have an alcoholic one (the one with Bailey's), but if it's not made with ice cream I can't imagine it would be that good. I'm sad now!

So, it is okay to go to 50's and just order the PB&J shake to go??? That would be awesome-
