We will be going to DLR next week and will be staying at the Disneyland hotel. Our dd is still drinking milk. What is the best way to get it and store it? Do they sell 2% or whole in the park? Is there a convience store close by (we won't have a car). Any tips or suggestions will be most helpful.:thumbsup2

I don't remember for sure if it's was 1% or 2% milk, but the children's meals come with lowfat milk as an option in the park. I would guess they also sell milk at the CS locations. It was Alta Dena and came in a green container last week (I don't know if it varies). If you're looking for larger sizes, there are some convenience stores along Harbor Blvd and Katella that probably carry milk (I've never been in them, so I don't know how good they are). You might also consider contacting the Disneyland Hotel or Disneyland Guest Services to see if larger containers of milk are sold anywhere in the resort.

Now that I think about it, you might check out White Water Snacks at the GCH. The GCH is also a DCA resort and DVC resorts usually carry quart or half gallons of milk at the gift shop or CS location.

On the Grand Californian Super Thread someone posted pictures of the refrigerated options at White Water snacks and sure enough, they carry half gallons of whole milk for $3.19.

If your hotel has a fridge you could pack powered milk and make it and chill it in the room.

Buy the shelf stable milk boxes. They're 2% milk (also in Vanilla and Chocolate flavors but I got the regular one).

Horizon Organic is the most widely available brand, but Safeway and Costco also have their store brand as well. Doesn't need refrigeration until it's opened! I used to carry this in the diaper bag when they were drinking milk all the time.

This way you don't need to worry about refrigeration while out and about in the park. =) Just load it in the stroller basket and off you go!

They're about a $3.99 for a 3 pack or $12 for a 12 pack if memory serves me right.

EDIT: Sorry didn't read the part about not having a car... Are you ordering from Vons and having any groceries delivered? Maybe they have it?

I would buy milk to keep in the hotel fridge then use a Thermos Funtainer for in the park.

The funtainers hold varying amounts but have a straw at the top and keep fluids cold for up to 12 hours.

I send my kiddo to school with milk in his each morning and he is still drinking it after school. I have stuck my finger inside the liquid a time or two to ensure it was still cold because it seems impossible (after sitting in a warm room or worse, the warm car!) and sure enough its always icy cold and fresh.

The funtainers are pricy but such a great investment. Ours are a couple years old now and we've had no leaking at all and they hold up great!

I am 99% sure that the DLH sells milk in the sundries shop in the Fantasy Tower, near the pool entrance. I think the coffee shop by Goofy's Kitchen also sells milk. I would check there before you make the trip to GCH.

"still drinking milk"...do kids every stop drinking milk??

We will be in the parks with our 16 month old in February and I just plan to get milk at counter service restaurants.

I'm pretty sure milk was an option on most if not all of the kids meals we got at the parks. Should be available all over the place. Have fun!

We always bought a half gallon at White Water snacks for in the room. In the parks we would bring a funtainer like a PP mentioned (they are AWESOME!) or just buy at CS. But if your DD is still drinking whole milk, I would go to Starbucks. :goodvibes
