We are arriving at the Poly on 9/25 (early a.m.) but are using Magical Express so we won't have a car. Is there anyone staying at the Poly who will have done some grocery shopping prior to that date and could get us a gallon of milk and a loaf of bread so we can eat cereal for breakfast and sandwiches during our stay? I am bringing everything else but these don't travel well. (We were ineligible for free dining.) I am willing to pay double.

Much thanks!

You should be able to buy bread and milk at the shop at the Polynesian...more expensive than the grocery store but it's there. If I remember correctly, and they haven't changed it since I stayed there, the shop is on the second level, before the monorail entrance. But, it could have been changed since they have rearranged things recently.

Its been a year for me as well, but the Polynesian will have what you need, (or you can get to Ft Wilderness via Disney Transportation to pick up those items!! ) all I know is I picked up a bottle of wine at their store, reasonablly priced, and they uncorked it no problem - I noted they had a lot of store items for sale there!!

Have fun!!

I don't have the link handy, but there is a shopping service that will deliver your items right to your resort. You do have to call ahead or I thinnk you can email the info...can't remember. The delivery cost wasn't overpriced. $10 or so. Good luck!

I don't remember seeing any milk or juice or beer or any to go food on the second floor. However... I do remember CC is selling milk... not sure about the bread... but i remember lots of muffins... danish.. bagels.. so maybe they may bread there too.

The small shop on the second floor does sell some snacks and drinks but I don't remember ever seeing a loaf of bread. They have snack foods, wine and beer as well as necessities. I'm not sure about milk though although you can buy individual servings at CC. It's old name was the Grog Hut but I think there is a newer name.

The Wilderness Lodge store will have more staples as it carries things for the villas where people have full kitchens.

I stated at the Poly in August and had to drive over to WL to get a container of milk. They had the small school type cartons at the food court, but not in the gift shops. We always have cereal in the mornings in the room...so we can sleep a bit later! ;) Any Disney resort that has Vacation Club ownership will have milk, bread and other items, because the rooms are equipped with kitchens. The Poly does not have DVC, and I do not think they carry those items. :wizard:

Captain Cooks does have cartons of milk and bagels for sale. I don't think they would have a loaf of bread, but I'm pretty sure they do have premade sandwiches. All at "resort prices" of course, but getting breakfast stuff from there is still a lot cheaper than eating at a restaurant.

Since you are willing to pay double then you won't have any problems buying it at Captain Cooks. They sell small plastic containers of milk and packs of 2 slices of bread. On our first day at the Poly I go over to Captain Cooks and stock up on milks and OJs for the mini fridge. I have gotten larger containers offsite before but feel the little ones at the Poly fit better in the fridge.

Thanks for the info. We've never been there without a car before. We have plenty of time our first day so I'll take the boat over to the WL and stock up there. Thanks!

You can buy milk and bread (whole loaves) at the Beachclub Marketplace and also over at the General Store on the Boardwalk. I know it requires some transportation planning...but we purchased these items several times over the course of our vacation. Their prices are comparable to most convenience stores. It was worth it to me to be able to pick things up right there in the hotel. :)

There is also a Hess station just a block or two from the YC/BC complex. DH went over there several times for beer, soft drinks, and snacks. He claimed the prices were better.
