Milk and other various questions.

We are going to POR Sept. 22-30 this year and it will be our first time staying on Disney as well as the very frist time at Disney World for DD4 and DD3. I have a few questions for everyone.

1. Is there a small grocery store on site that we could buy milk from?

2. Is Soya milk available? DD3 has a milk intolerance.

3. Which buildings are a good bet at POR with two preschool aged children?

4. we have friends staying at ASM. How easy is it to travel between resorts and is it worth it to take a taxi instead?

5. If our friends would like to stay with our kids at our resort while we go off on our own, will they be able to take advantage of the pools and playgrounds even though they are guests at another resort?

Thank you for any help you can give us. I am just trying to make this first family vacation as successful as we possibly can!

1. Yes - the gift shop has some groceries, including milk. They also sell milk in the food court, but it is cheaper at the gift shop.

2. Not sure...

3. For us, we prefer to be in the quieter buildings, since DS is easily woken up. So we prefer the buildings that are further from the food court/bus stops. But others prefer buildings that are closer to the amenities, for the convenience. Here: http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/pomap1.jpg is a map of the resort with the building numbers to help you pick. We LOVE POR!

4. Kind of a pain...you need to take a bus to a park and then transfer there. There are no direct buses.

5. Technically, there is no "pool hopping" to other pools (unless you are a DVC member, and then there are still some restrictions). But, realistically, those pools are not super-popular, so there is not likely to be a problem. I don't think the spirit of the rule is to prevent what you mention here. Others will likely disagree. And I don't know if there is a rule about the playgrounds.
