This is not a physical disability question. My son will be 17 months when we go to DL in Feb. 2009 and he has a milk allergy, undiagnosed by an allergy doctor. My son will be going to the allergy doctor in a week. My question is, how do I avoid milk foods at DL? Is it easy to ask vendors about the products they are selling from their carts?

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

I realize that you are asking about DisneyLand and most of our information here does deal with Disney World.

However, if you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Check Post #3 for information in the "Diet" section as we do have some DL information there, as well as Post #14 which is oriented toward DL.

Or, if you want an easier route, click on the link in my signature.

Call Disney Dining and ask to be put through to Chef Chris. He's in charge of helping people with food allergies and issues, and he will call you back as soon as you can. Leave him a specific message about what you need. :)

We changed our minds and decided to go to WDW in March instead of DL.

My son is allergic to cow's milk and has reflux.

I love DLR very much and miss it but never really trusted any food other than at sit down restaurants at hotels. WDW has lots of land and space for building things. WDW can afford to have a team of people dedicated to dietary needs such as religious, medical, allergens, and special processing. They have so many restaurants so that the cost of a team could be far better spread out and worth WDW's effort to serve guests. Things may have changed at DLR but I doubt it.
