Military Vouchers and Park Reservations

Hello!
I’ve never started a thread before, so I apologize if I’m doing something wrong. I tried to search the DIS for an answer, but the last thread I see about military vouchers is from 2019, so before the park reservation system.
My sister in Nevada is planning on coming to WDW in July since they’re not sure if non-Cali residents will be let into DLR by then. There are 7 of them. Her husband is military, and they have purchased military vouchers for their tickets. She is telling me that she cannot reserve her park days until vouchers are in hand, which she was told may be 2-3 more weeks. Does anyone know if this is true? I want to tell her surely there is a code on a receipt or something that she can use to at least book her reservations now since July is filling up quickly, but I don’t know!

Once she received the vouchers she can link them to her MDE account. Unfortunately you cannot do this with the receipt. The number will be on the back of the voucher that will look like a ticket. Best of luck!

Can she expedite receipt of the tickets? Maybe cancel and reorder from Camp Pendleton or Shades of Green? If purchased on post, the time lag can be long. I have purchased via SOG which send them via FedEx and is much quicker than on post. More info via : https://www.militarydisneytips.com

Shades of Green is backed up. We were told 3 weeks until we can order our tickets from them. So just sadly watching the reservations calendar fill for our dates (6/13-6/18).

Maybe try to make park entry as a resort guest.?
 
It would be better if Military Tickets worked like 3rd party vendors (ticket brokers). Buying thru the broker they send the actual tickets codes via email in about 24hrs. I’m wondering why these tickets aren’t handled the same way. What use is a savings if you cannot ge into the parks you’d like.

She will be staying on property, but not shades of green. I know there’s a separate bucket for “resort guests”, but right that availability is matching the “park ticket” bucket availability. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Riiight? All her kids are huge Star Wars fans, so of course we’re all worried about DHS availability..... I don’t even know how big a discount she got, but I’m wondering if it’s worth it!

I agree with this! Except I would not use Shades currently. There are several other bases who are sending Tickets via FedEx the next day. There is a Disney for Military Facebook group that you can see who is sending tickets currently.

Yep. And the Resort Guest bucket still needs a ticket attached. A room only reservation doesn’t get access to pick a park.
