Military tickets

The offer has now been extended through 10/03/15, with new pricing ($132) going into effect 08/25/14.

Here's the offer: http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...-u-s-military-with-special-ticket-room-rates/

You can buy them as of 8/25, but you can't use them before 9/28.

I know that last year the tickets did not expire 14 days after first use if you didn't use all 3 days. There doesn't appear to be any language in the offer that would change that this year.

This year the offer states that one of the 6 tickets purchased must be used by a service member or spouse, which I believe is new.

No that's always been the case. When we had AP's it was a bummer because we didn't NEED tickets for ourselves but we couldn't buy them for family unless we bought ones for at least one of us to use.

They didn't need to see an ID personally from you? How much extra did the Fedex cost?

Thanks

Sorry to have posted and ran, but to answer your question... the MWR person I spoke with said they didn't require proof since they could not be activated without a military ID anyways. I don't recall the Fed Ex cost but I don't think it was that much and they came quickly. Hope that helps....

No worries. Thanks for the information.

DH has them shipped via FedEx from our closest MWR. It was $25 to have them shipped. Didn't need to show ID to buy them; DH called MWR, they faxed him (emailed? can't remember) something to sign to bill our credit card, and we received them a week later--along with several planning guides, brochures, and information about other attractions in the area.

I'm pretty sure you mean the new pricing is for tickets for the extended offer, but want to make sure.

We are planning on using the current Salute offer in Sept of this year, but we want to buy them once we get there. Will we still be paying the price for THIS year's offer or will we pay the new price?

When I bought my tickets toward the end of the promotion last time, they offered me either price... The current one that would be expiring soon, or the new ones that I would have a year to use (since you don't have to use the days all at one time.). We just bought the current price bc we knew we'd use all 3 days at that visit but they may give you the same choice.

Thanks! Yes, we will be using all days before the end of this year's promotion, so there's no need to get the ones for next year.

I just received my Military Promotion vouchers, and the instructions say I can go straight to the entry turnstile without stopping at will call or ticket sales. I wasn't aware that entry turnstiles could print ticket media -- can anyone else confirm this? :confused3

Just did this 2 weeks ago ~ It actually went very quickly. CM at the entry took the paper vouchers and printed out the tickets without even asking for my military ID. They did not take pictures at this time (not sure if that's usually the case) but they did do pics the second time we entered the park.

Fast and easy :)

When you passed the CM with the scanner/camera there was no ticket to scan yet. If you had exchanged the vouchers at the booth, they would have taken the picture the first time you entered. It doesn't make much difference, just something to think about if someone is hoping and leaving themselves minimal time for something like the start of a show or the end of an FP return window.

This is correct. We went the middle of August and although I bought the tix at the ticket booths the night before, they said all of them go to the turnstyles, unlike WDW. They may or may not ask for ID, so have it with you. They did ask us for ID for our party the first time. Then your party may or may not need their own IDs later so they should carry them. They will take your pictures at some point, but not necessarily the first time you enter.

Also, we were able to get pretty much as many of the salute tix as we needed. We thought we could only get 6, but when we were getting our tix at the ticket booth, the CM said it was 6 per transaction. So, I got six at that booth. My sister was at the next booth with work vouchers that she had previously purchased, and with my DH, the CM gave her a gift card refund for the difference and replaced with Salute tix. The next day I got one more for my sister-in-law. Then I was able to come back a couple of days later and get a couple more for friends who were meeting us there. It was amazing unexpected pixie dust for us. So we ended up getting 11 total. If my cousin and her friend hadn't had AP's I would have been able to get theirs as well. We were so lucky. Not sure if that is a regular thing, but the CMs offered and had no problem with it. I don't think this ever would have happened at WDW since things are done so different there. :goodvibes

So...if I purchase two tickets this week, I will be able to buy more tickets at a later time?

I would like to buy the Salute ticket for me and DH. MAYBE next spring my grandchildren MIGHT come for a visit. Buying those two tickets now will not lock us out of purchasing more in the future?

TIA for re-assuring me.

If it goes how it did for us you will have no trouble. I can't guarantee that would work, but you can try. Worst case is you can only get the remaining tickets left and would have to purchase the rest at higher cost. That's actually what I did. I thought I had maxed out my allotment so got a couple of kids tickets separately at a higher price. Then at the ticket booth they told us that we could purchase more of the salute tickets, but not in the same purchase as the 1st set of tickets that I was getting. So, while I was getting our tickets at one booth, my husband went to another booth with my sister and got credit for the higher priced tickets she had bought for the kids. Then I went back the next day to get tickets for some friends that were meeting us there. It worked out great, but I did not go in asking for it or expecting it. If you get them at the ticket booths, it seems that they don't check to see if or how many you have previously purchased. I can't see why it wouldn't work for you going several months later. Just make sure you are not trying to use salute tickets during black out period.
Good Luck! :cheer2:
