Hi all - I am a WDW old-timer, but have never been to DL. I need some quick help. My son is active duty, and has order to San Francisco next month. He's asked me to fly down to meet him, then ride along/help drive and take a few extra days along the way, then fly home (why does it sound like I'm getting the short end of that deal?). One idea is to stop at Disneyland since we pretty much have to go thru the LA area.

Anyway - I know there is a 3-day hopper for $99 for military. But is there a discounted one-day ticket? We would only have one, or possibly two days, at the most.

For any tickets other than the $99 promotion, you have to buy them on a physical military base, and the discount is TINY. For example, I just pulled up the 2012 rates for my base. A one-day park hopper is $105....and with the military discount it's (drumroll) $104.25!!! A savings of 75 cents. Not worth my time to drive there to pick it up.

You're better off just getting the 3-day hoppers for $99 even if you only use one day! Here's the details: http://www.militarydisneytips.com/Disney-Armed-Forces-Salute.html

I think you can use your days anytime in 2012. So maybe you buy the $99 ticket, then use the other two days sometime before the end of the year?

Lisa - We won't be back in the area this year, and he will only have one or two days of leave to use en-route. We were really hoping to find an inexpensive one day ticket.

Yeah, unfortunately as I said earlier, it's really hard to find a discounted one-day ticket. If you don't want a parkhopper and only want to go to Disneyland (not DCA), then the cost is $80, but there are a lot of awesome attractions at DCA, so if you're considering hopping, the 3-day $99 military hopper is still a better deal than buying a one-day hopper, as funny as it sounds.
