Military Ticket Question

yea I was wondering how to get to sog and most people said i'd have to catch a cab to get there, but true could take the monorail, but yea time is money, and 550 vs what 600? (don't know the flordia taxes) not much of a difference

You can go to the TTC and catch the SOG bus to the resort (comes every 20 minutes I think), pick up the tickets, ride the bus back to TTC and catch the monorail or boat to MK. Took me no longer than 45 minutes last year. This year we arrive late afternoon and are not planning on visiting a park the first night so I'll go off and get the tickets while they relax by the pool :)

Yes. I see on the SoG site where it says the program was extended.

However, on the internal Disney site it still shows that sales of the tickets will end on July 31. No matter what, we will be able to activate tickets and upgrade them to add hopping and/or WPF&M up through the end of September. However, until I see something official from Disney I know that I would not be able to sell them at my ticket window after July 31.

What do you do when you "activate" the ticket? Do you put the military person's social security number, name and addy in the computer and the number of tickets that were purchased to be activated? I always wondered this.

are you talking about getting to SOG from airport or from different parks?

from airport:

there are a couple different car services that we have personally used..there is one on SOG website and then there is another one called Mears. We usually go with the second company we get a private towne car which is nice, cuz you get a meet and greet with the driver (they stand down by baggage claim with your name on a card) once you find your driver they get your baggage and load up the car and you are good to go. they also have vans, buses and limos.

from the parks to SOG

you can take SOG transportation or hop on the resort monorail and get off at the Poly and walk across the street to SOG

Do I have to purchase a 4 day ticket? My daughter and I are only going for 2 days, we are celebrating her birthday, Star Wars weekend.

No it is probably answered here somewhere, but can we share a 4-day ticket?

No you can't share a ticket but if you get the 4 day tickets you're still saving money compared to buying 2 day tickets. ($99 for a 4 day ticket compared to $162 for a SOG 2 day ticket).

So confused...please help. My father-in-law purchased 4 tickets for our family, 4 day base ticket. My questions are:

1. Does my father-in-law have to be present to activate the card at guest relations?

2. We decided we wanted to add the water park option for $25. Can we still do that, since we haven't activated them AND does it give you 4 days at the regular parks and 4 days at the water parks, total of 8 days. OR just 4 days total between water & regular?

So confused??? :confused3

1. The tickets, no matter where purchased, must be activated prior to use or they will not work. To be activated the person must show an active or retired military ID or a Dependent ID (DD Form 1173) which indicates Spouse or Unremarried Widow in the "Relationship" box.

1½. Once the passes are activated, the hopping and/or WPF&M options may be added for $25 (plus tax) per option per ticket by any ticket holder.

2. This is a "canned" response modified for the Armed Forces Salute 2010 tickets with the assumption you have both the Park Hopper and Water Park Fun and More (WPF&M) options.

Hopefully this will make it a little clearer. In effect you have two tickets with different privileges on one card. Everything expires at Midnight on September 30, 2010. Even if you use up all your major park days, the WPF&M entries remain valid until used or 09/30/10. (Note you do not have to use the days consecutively.)

You have four days of access to the four major parks (AK, DHS, EC, MK), and may visit more than one major park on a single day without any extra charges. Without the Park Hopper option you can only go to one major park per day.

You have four entries to the minor parks (BB, DQ, OT, TL, WWS). These may or may not be used on the same days as you go to the major parks. However, if you went to TL in the morning, Oak Trail in the afternoon, and Disney Quest in the evening of one day you would have used three of the four entries. (Note that leaving and returning to the same minor park on the same day does not use an extra entry.)

If you go to minor parks only on one day and do not go to a major park you do not use up one of your major park days.

If you were to go to a Water Park in the morning and then one of the major parks for the remainder of the day you would have used one minor park entry and one day of major park entry.

Note that with the ticket unless you have the hopper option you can only go to one major park per day. Unless you have the WPF&M option you cannot go to a minor park without upgrading or purchasing a separate ticket.

Thanks...that does help! One more question, what is OT and WWS stand for???

Thanks, this is a helpful thread in trying to figure out the military salute tickets. I wasn't going to get the WPF&M option because I thought it would take away from our 4 days at the major parks but sounds like that's not the case.

Also glad to know we can go to SOG on the day we arrive to purchase the tickets so we don't miss any fun standing at the ticket counter the next day.

I think they meant OT = Oak Trail but I don't think that's included.

WWS = Wide World of Sports. Nothing ever goes on there anyho unles there is a scheduled sporting even which usually requires a separate ticket. Hope that helps.
