I just called to order our tickets and the base here only orders the 1st and the 15th. That won't work for us. :guilty:

Can I buy them at the gate?

TIA!

Never mind. I believe I have discovered that I can buy them at the gate. :)

Yes! You can buy them at the gate! It was very simple. They take your picture on your first use and check your military id...then you are good to go!

Yes, and the gate is actually easier than buying from MWR. Even better, when I bought at Guest Services they didn't limit me to the six you can buy at MWR, which is nice when it's a big family visit like ours was this fall.

That's strange. At the two MWR tickets offices where I've purchased the DLR Salute tickets, they didn't stock actual tickets. They simple entered information into their computer system and printed out vouchers on standard 8.5x11 paper. The vouchers have a bar code and you take them straight to the park turnstiles at DL/DCA where they scan and exchange them for actual ticket media. The whole process takes just a few seconds.

What ID do they need at actual DL?

The Service Member has to present their CAC. And they have to be there and present the ID on first use at the turnstiles. They don't have to be present after that, although my family did have some issues on the second day they used them without me present last year. This year wasn't an issue.

Doesn't have to be a CAC. Retired members of the armed forces are eligible for the Salute tickets, so we show our non-CAC retired ID cards (DD Form 2) and they are accepted just fine.

Yeah, the ITT office here said that there's one...30 (?) miles away from town that can do that, but not the one on our base.
Oh well. As long as I can get them.
