Military salute ticket question

Ive tried to find the answer but just couldnt so im sure its been asked before but i just cant seem to find it. Curretnyl it will be 4 adults going to WDW in May. My father in law is part of the military and we were looking into the tickets for the 4 days which i believe if i remember right its 177 for 4 days, correct? My father in law has health issue and might stay at the hotel one day or just not feel like going. We got the Animal Kingdom Lodge with concierge service for him, ok for me but he reaps the benefits lol. Are his name on the tickets is one question? Does he have to be present on park entry, or can he arrive later? And with the MDX do we even need to bring the physical tickets with us or can we just link them on the magic bands and enter the park?

The 4 day Salute tickets with EITHER park hopper OR water park fun & more are $177. The 4 day Salute tickets with BOTH the park hopper option AND WP&M are $207.

You can link the tickets to MDE as soon as you get them, which will allow you to make your 60 day advance FP+ reservations.

You still need to take the actual tickets to a ticket office to be activated. I think your FIL needs to be there with his military ID for activation; once the tickets are activated, he does not need to be with you in the parks.

Your FIL (or anyone in your party with a valid military i.d. ) will need to be there when you first activate the tickets, which can be done at any ticket sales window on WDW property. All adults will need to show photo i.d. (not military because you don't have to be a direct dependent to use the tickets) with their tickets at activation, then they will double check the activation of your MagicBands to your tickets. If you linked them via MDE you should be fine, but they'll make sure just in case because it is the same activation number as on the vouchers. The tickets you have will more than likely be a voucher like this unless you get them directly at the ticket sales counter.

Ticket sales offices are located outside of the gate for each park.

Might be easier to get to the day/night before (not sure of hours) you want to start in parks. (It will take a little time for the CM to get all the tickets activated)
This way your can start your first park day fast, just go in with your bands.

Make sure everyone has their ID, the CM will need it to assign the tickets.
