Military Salute 3 Day Hopper?

Hello everyone!

I'm wondering if anyone can chime in on their experience with getting a military salute 3 day park hopper $143 pass the day of? I know you can get them mailed to you ahead of your trip, but I don't have that kind of time before our trip (they say to leave 2-3 weeks processing time) and my mother (the ID holder) doesn't live near a base that sells the tickets (the closest is over 14 hours away). I chatted with a Disney cast member via the website and she stated that while they recommend buying them ahead of time, they do carry a limited number in the morning but they are first come first serve and I "shouldn't have a problem." Thats not the difinitive answer I was looking for.
I'm planning on being at the ticket booth as soon as it opens to get them, but I am wondering if anyone else has done this and how it has worked for them?

Its my mom's first EVER visit to Disney, which she has dreamt about since she was a little girl and she is giddy like a kid to go and I worry if we can't get the tickets that we will have to cut our visit short from 3 days to 1. Please tell me I don't need to worry.

We have bought the military salute passes at DL ticket booth the past 2 years. There were no issues. I can't remember for sure, but I do believe we paid taxes. The person with the military id is the only one that needs to be at the ticket counter (we bought 6, so it was easier if they waited out of line). You need to provide name and birthdate of the people that will be using the pass. It was easy and painless. The first time I bought them the day before our first day so that I didn't waste time in line. The second time I bought them the day we used them. The lines moved pretty quick.

When you bought them the day before, do you remember what time of day you did that? Just trying to figure out how quickly they run out.
