I emailed Disney a few weeks ago expressing disapointment that the latest military discount offer did not extend to our allies in England and other countries. I received a response via email and a request for phone number where a representative could talk to me. I gave them my work number and just finished a conversation with someone I believe was in marketing or PR. Bottom line - obviously they are not going to change the program based on my comments, but the rep did say they were surprised by the large number of people expressing the same sentiment. They have passed that on "for consideration". I pointed out that with international travel down this might be somewhat of a boost. I also pointed out that they apparently felt the need for a boost given the unprecedented FTP offer (7 nights for the price of four). I got the impression they simply never thought of extending the military discount to allies - the rep mentioned they've had military discounts from time to time, and I guess this program was patterned after the previous ones.
I still think this would be a great gesture on Disney's part, and not a bad PR move as well - especially given the negative opinions coming out over the lack of WMD evidence. (Not intended to start a political debate - just saying that the troops in England and elsewhere could use another form of "thank you".)
If you agree - email customer relations using the Disney World web site. To their credit, they are listening and responding.
