We've done multiple Military Discount cruises and, while it's still more expensive than other lines, it's a significant savings over regular DCL prices

I use military discounts often, including two recent cruises on the Fantasy and Wonder. I also am booking two more for Jan/Feb on the Dream and Magic.
They are usually released every Monday and you can find them on the DCL website under "Plan a Cruise" then "Special Offers" and there is a military section. I usually check a couple of times a week. There are some really great deals on sailings right now with the limited number of people sailing.
